I took maternity pictures with Punam Bean when I was almost 9 months pregnant with Charlie. Even though I felt huge and I don’t like posing for pictures, I’m so glad that I have these images to remember that period in my life forever. Perhaps it was the purported pregnancy glow, but I think it was the very talented Punam who made me look much better than I do in real life!
It was our meetaversary that day, so Mr. Bee got me this replica of my wedding bouquet.
See my cat Smokey spying on us in the window?
I developed this linea negra when I was pregnant with Charlie, and it took almost a year to go away. Strangely enough I haven’t developed one at all this time around.

I have very few pictures of myself in recent years since I’m always the one behind the camera, so I knew I wanted to take maternity pictures with this pregnancy as well. I try to work with someone new every time (there are just so many amazing photographers out there!), and 2 weeks ago I shot a session with the fabulous Jen Huang. Because she’s a film photographer, the pictures take longer to receive. I can’t wait to see them! This time around I wore summer dresses, so I think the two shoots are going to have a totally different feel.
Are you planning on doing a maternity shoot? I highly recommend it because the years post baby just fly by like one big blur.

You look fab Bee! I didn’t take maternity pictures for Mavi because the idea of “clothed” shots never came to mind. If it had, I’m sure I would of done some seeing my belly had stretch marks and I wasn’t feeling very sexy at the time.

What beautiful pictures, Mrs Bee! Honestly, I’m not a fan of the standard maternity shots because they can be so creepy sometimes. Yours were done elegantly and beautifully. I hope you plan on framing at least one of those!!

So beautiful Bee! I really like these because they don’t feel like typical maternity shots.

Beautiful pictures. What a great way to remember your first pregnancy. I always felt so yucky to take pictures while preggers with Nicholas so never bothered with professional pictures; but I might consider it next time around since we want another child.

Beautiful Pics!
I didn’t take professional pics but I did take pictures of my belly every few weeks to document how huge I was becoming. Great to go back and compare the weeks.

You look so great — glowing in every photo! I wish I had taken professional photos, but I didn’t really love my body while I was pregnant. I would slack off on taking weekly photos, and I wish I had better documented my pregnancy.

I didn’t do a photo shoot at all, but I have always wanted to, so I’m going to try to get one in the second time around! I think it’s a great idea!

You looked fabulous pregnant! Are there any maternity/nursing bras that you would recommend? I’m 6 months pregnant and have been having a hard time finding a comfy bra that doesn’t dig into my ribs.

I am most definitely going to be doing a maternity shoot. I don’t think that I can swing someone like punam, but I’m so looking forward to it. Yours turned out so lovely – I can’t wait to see these new ones!
