I haven’t been taking very many pictures of Olive because she’s still a very sleepy baby that never has her eyes open for an extended period of time. She pretty much sleeps around the clock, waking up only to eat and have her diaper changed. So far she seems to be pretty mellow, but she’s still a newborn so her personality hasn’t fully emerged yet. You can see what Charlie looked like at 10 days old here. He was a lot more alert than Olive! Do you think they look alike? It’ll be interesting to see how much Olive’s looks change in the coming months, because Charlie looks nothing like his newborn pictures now.
Olive usually gets hungry every 2-3 hours, and I’d forgotten just how tired you get when you sleep in 2 hour chunks. Charlie started sleeping through the night at 4 1/2 months, but I continued to wake up once in the middle of the night to pump until he was 9 months old. Just thinking about not being able to sleep through the night for so long is making me tired! But how can I resist that little face?

Olive is adorable! Since she s a preemie, how early do you plan to sleep train her? Do you feed on demand or? Thanks for sharing!
My DD was a 6 weeks early preemie, we fed on demand and did not sleep train her ….. She was a lousy napper ever since she was a preemie. She went to daycare @ 5 months old (not adjusted age) and barely napped at daycare so every night, she would go to bed at around 7pm till 7am. She did wake up for 1-2 feeds. She’s 28 months now and taking 1-2 hours naps at daycare and home on weekends. She goes to bed at around 8.30-9pm until 7.30am the next day. If I could do things differently, I will want to nap train her. My twins will most likely be early so I’m wondering when to start nap and sleep training especially since I have to do it before they head to daycare.

@josie267 – we feed on demand, and i don’t know when we’ll sleep train olive. she is just so little compared to charlie! i’m just hoping/praying she’s a naturally good sleeper!
with charlie we sleep trained at 4 1/2 months, but if i could do it again i’d probably do it at 3 months. night training was really easy for him.

She’s beautiful! I think she looks very much like you, Bee.
@josie267 – wait and see what your twins’ personalities are like? I’ve heard children are so different from each other. My babysitter tells me her eldest was very independent, while the youngest needed to be held all the time. My doula’s first child has to be in his room, in just the right environment to go to sleep – he’s particular about his sleep environment. While her youngest (she has 3 kids!) is very relaxed can fall asleep anywhere.
