Please join me in welcoming the newest Bee to the hive, Mama Yo-yo!

~~~
Yo, hive! (Sorry I had to.)
I’m so happy to be joining you as Mama Yo-yo. When I gave the list of children’s game icons to my husband for input on which I should choose, he immediately said yo-yo. Reason: “You could be Yo-yo Ma, and I could be Yo-yo Pa!”
(Groan, right? Well … that’s us in a nutshell. I apologize in advance.)
Random cellist-related humor aside, Papa Y and I are the proud parents of Baby Yo-yo, who is just a week shy of his 6-month birthday. We live in a tiny town in rural Virginia, and we both work at a law school here. Just how tiny and rural is our town, you ask? Well, the only hospital in the county doesn’t deliver babies, and the nearest Target is two hours away. Yikes.
As a Hellobee blogger, I pledge to be frank about motherhood, first and foremost. Too many mommy blogs are unrelentingly positive, and while I love being a mom, the ups come with downs. The highs are higher, and the lows are lower. It’s all fair game. I also plan to blather about (in no particular order) traveling with a baby, taming PCOS, raising a biracial child, balancing work and motherhood, breastfeeding without losing your mind, throwing together a nursery on a budget, sleep (or lack thereof), and much, much more.
So let’s get this party started, shall we?
