Bibs are used for spit-ups, drool and mealtime, so we’ve been through our fair share in Charlie’s first 2 years of life. Every child is different and some may need bibs more than others, especially if you have a drooly baby.

This is our guide to our favorite bibs!

1) Ikea Kladd Prickar – Although these are technically art smocks, they’re wonderful as full body bibs for messy eaters (and all kids are messy eaters). At $4.99 for 2, the price can’t be beat! And of course you can even use them as art smocks as well!

2) BabyBjorn Soft bib – The big pocket on this waterproof bib catches food spills. Many moms count this as their favorite bib, but it was a little too big when we first started solids, and it takes up a lot of space in your diaper bag. Charlie actually loves this bib now, but the downside is that he can easily pull it off.

3) Bumkins Waterproof Superbib – These were our go to bibs for a long time. They’re made of a thin waterproof fabric so they’re easy to clean, and they fold up easily into Charlie’s lunchbox.

4) Green Sprouts Favorite Food Bib – Once Charlie was a little bit older, he was able to pull the Bumkins bibs off of him, so we switched to these fun bibs from Green Sprouts. They come in a bunch of fun designs, are a generous size and fit over the head (no velcro or snaps), so kids can’t take them off!

5) Green Sprouts 10 Pack Terry Bibs – Some babies need to wear a bib at all times because they drool so much. Charlie was an average drooler, but when he was getting his molars, he became a drooling machine. A pack of inexpensive bibs like this one (though it doesn’t matter where you buy them) were necessary otherwise his clothes would get soaked!

6) Aden & Anais Burpy Bib – Some babies spit up a lot, and a bib may be necessary during feedings. This burpy can be used as a burpcloth for your newborn, and it also converts into a regular bib with a snap. Snaps, as opposed to velcro, can be harder for babies to pull off, don’t catch little girls’ long hair, and doesn’t get stuck to clothes in the washer like velcro can.
