I guess there really is no jinxing it at this point – fall is almost here and she’s coming even if we don’t talk about her. Don’t get me wrong, I loooove fall and all the clothes, food and weather that comes with it, but I know what comes after fall, and the thought sends shivers down my spine. Since fall is going to be here any day now, a new pair of shoes (maybe if I’m lucky two… I wish way more) are in need for my feet and probably yours! As I was “window shopping,” I realized my whole criteria for shoes has changed drastically since have active little ones, I still shop for shoes that are super versatile, that will go with a ton of outfits (maybe even into the next year or two). But first on my list before all the style criteria is: “Can I run, play or chase my kids in them?”  So as I was looking I gathered up a few great fall shoe styles that are great for: going from work to play, meeting friends and playing a game of tag, walking and running around all day long, or playing on the playground all day.

At first glance they look like a fun pair of patterned oxfords, but they’re a comfy classic pair of sneakers in a fun pattern. Perfect for a weekend outing, playing on the park or chasing your little ball of energy around all day. polka dot Vans $50 . floral Vans $55

A cute little flat bootie works with almost anything in your fall wardrobe; they’re cute with jeans, trousers, skirts and dresses and super easy on your feet. The only downfall is the suede is not all type of weather friendly, but least they will be comfortable and easy to run in when you see the storm clouds rolling in.  black booties Nine West $109

The loafer or smoking slipper is basically a ballet flat with a different top. It’s a nice alternative to the open ballet flat and comes in a ton of super fun patterns and colors – which can make quickly slipping on a pair of comfortable shoes jazz up your whole outfit. smokey flat Zigi $49.95

Not a style fit for everyone, and probably not very work appropriate, but a pair of standard moccasins can make the perfect weekend casual shoe. A staple like this is always great to have as a backup in your closet. It’s a no-brainer that goes with everything. So when your little ones are all dressed and anxious to go, you always have something you can just slip on (because we always worry about everyone else being ready and sometimes forget about ourselves) . The flatstack shoe gives a bit of height, but they’re still easy to go from work to play in them. The height being more evenly proportioned from toe to heel is what makes the bit of height much more comfortable and bearable for your feet. The wedge is my go to heel when it comes to pumps or boots – it’s comfy, easy to walk in all day and looks great! I have a pair of wedge boots similar to this I wore almost every day last fall and winter, and I can only guess how much extra comfy a pair of Toms wedge booties would be.
