Congratulations to the winner, babyboecksmom!

I’m a bit of a gear junkie so when 4moms (the people behind the Origami stroller and Mamaroo swing) contacted me about doing a review and giveaway of their new Breeze playard, I couldn’t resist. I’ve owned no less than 3 pack n plays, and while they get the job done, they can be a pain to set up and take down. Don’t tell me that I’m the only one who always has trouble getting at least one of the sides to lock into place properly!

The Breeze is different than all the other playards out there because it’s ridiculously easy set up, even if you’re the most handy-challenged person in the world. You simply push down on the center, lay down the aqua mat and you’re done! To take it down, pull up on the center strap and it folds up instantly. It takes less than a minute, and even grandma would have no problem setting this up.

I’ve tested it many times, and it really is as easy and smooth as it appears in this 30 second video:

What I love best about the Breeze is that you can easily move it from room to room. When Olive was using a pack n play at grandma’s house last week, I wanted to move her to another room. But I was too lazy to take down the pack n play to get it to fit through the door, and then set it up again, so we just kept her in the same room. If we’d had a Breeze, I would have moved her to the other room without a second thought.

The Breeze also comes with a detachable bassinet and an aqua changing pad for infants, so it’s a great place for your newborn to sleep in your room for the first couple of months.

I also love the modern, gender neutral colors that don’t scream baby. I may or may not have put an aqua headband on Olive to color coordinate with the Breeze.

The Breeze is suitable for toddlers up to 30 pounds. Olive is 11 months old and a long baby, but you can see that she has plenty of room.

With two kids I’ve been through a lot of baby gear, but I have to say that I was really impressed with the Breeze. I can’t believe it took so long for someone to come up with a playard that’s so intuitive, it doesn’t require any instructions at all!

A couple of caveats: the Breeze is 30 pounds which is on the heavy side if you’re going to use it for travel. And at $299, it’s definitely on the pricier end for playards. But it’s just so easy to use I wouldn’t have hesitated to purchase this, if only for the fact that I can move it from room to room with ease. And since you can use this from birth through toddlerhood, it’ll have a very long life!

You can preorder the Breeze now but it’s been so popular, they’ve already sold out their initial production so orders will be shipped mid-October.
