It’s hard to believe that the end of the school year is already here. Like many moms, I’ve been trying to think of a fun teacher appreciation gift for my children’s teachers. We decided to make some chalkboard pencil boxes and fill it with some goodies.
You’ll need to gather a few supplies:
1) Chalkboard paint
2) Chalk
3) Paint Brush
4) Wooden pencil box found at Hobby Lobby or most craft stores
5) Cup to hold the paint
Step One
Shake the chalkboard paint well, and pour some out into a cup.
Step Two
Apply two coats of chalkboard paint to the box with the foam brush. Let your children help paint the box if they are at the appropriate age.
Step Three
Allow the box to dry for at least a few hours, or overnight is best.
Step Four
Use a piece of chalk and rub it all over the chalkboard paint.
Step Five
Use a paper towel to wipe off all the chalk. This will help the chalkboard box wipe off better later when you use it.
Step Six
Use a piece of chalk to write a special note to their teacher. If your little ones can write, they can write the note!
Fill it with some goodies, pencils, or even a gift card for your hard working teacher!
