Hi everyone! I am so excited to join the Hellobee community as Mrs. Lion! I am new to the world of parenting and blogging, and I am excited to share my experiences with all of you.

I met Mr. Lion in 2008, and we bonded over our love of travel. We went on first trip together a couple months after we met, and we have been seeking out new adventures ever since! He is my perfect companion, and we have been happily married since October of 2010.

Our newest, and certainly most exciting adventure is parenting our precious baby boy. Little Lion was born March 1st, 5 weeks before he was supposed to arrive! My due date was April 6th, but because he was a breech baby I had a scheduled c-section planned for April 1st… April Fools Day! Turns out the joke was on us; my water broke and I went into labor about an hour after I received the phone call from the doctor confirming the appointment!

After LL was born, I gave up my career as an elementary school teacher. After dreaming about it for years, I am now learning what it really means to be a full time mommy. I miss the students, but I love that I get to enjoy all of these special moments at home.  The days can be monotonous, and I very rarely “stay at home,” but he is changing so fast and I am so grateful that I will get to watch him grow, and that I can be his first teacher.

I am a huge fan of organization, coffee, music, sunshine, bodies of water, and messy art projects. I am a follower of Jesus, and am very involved in the large non-denominational church that we attend. I am constantly discovering what it means to live out my faith. Most recently I am attempting to become a better steward of the resources we are blessed with, financial and otherwise. This means slowing down my former crazy schedule, trying out cloth diapers, cooking with more whole ingredients and less processed stuff, living with less, and generally simplifying our life. I believe childhood (and life) is best experienced outside whenever possible, and the best days end with pure exhaustion, just a little sunburn, and dirty clothes.

Parenting is tough, but just as much fun as I hoped it would be! We love having LL along for the ride, and I am looking forward to being able to share all of these new experiences through the lens of both mom and educator. I am so excited to learn from all of you!
