I must confess — I cut my kids’ hair. And I do it almost every time it’s needed. Sometimes it turns out pretty good. Other times? Well those times, I tell them to wear a hat till it’s grown out. I have to say I’ve gotten pretty good over the years, but that’s also because I do the same cut every-single-time. It’s due time we head to a real stylist to touch their little locks. Change is good and really it’s fun to go to a hairdresser.
I was searching for new cute kiddo hair styles, trying to change things up and graduate my kids from “Mom’s Barber Shop,” and I found a bunch of cute styles. Here are a few super easy to manage/low maintenance kiddo hair cuts.
And while I was looking for cute cuts for kids, I found a few really fun hairstyles for little girls, some with tutorials.

Do you kids get their haircut at “Mom’s Barber Shop”? Which is your favorite haircut and style?

Great post! My little one has the blunt bangs and bob, and my older one has “Elsa hair”… long, straggly stuff. I’m going to try some of the fun styles here.

I’m curious where you found these images. That second model looks exactly like Kiernan Shipka from a Mad Men!

We took my son for his first haircut not long ago. I wanted to keep his curly locks, so we went longer on the top than the back and sides. I love it- the top is curly and shaggy.

Yep, my son gets his hair cut at mom’s barber shop, I am actually decent, know that I have my professional cutting and thinning shears!
I love a neat haircut on my son, his hair is very textured, so it is a challenge to keep it neat looking!

I cut DS’s hair but he gets it shaved so its easy – but now he wants to grow it out – we are in that awkward stage where it needs to be cut and its driving me crazy!! I envision the short and shaggy cut on him

@macintosh: All the links are under the photos, I try to find the original links but sometimes it’s super tough. And you’re right, she TOTALLY does I didn’t even notice!!

I love that easy bob and the double clip side sweep! Great ideas. We are growing out our daughter’s bangs so the double clip will come in handy when they get a little longer!!

Great to see a curly hairstyle in the mix!

We just gave my daughter her first haircut at 2! We did a simple bob and it is so much more manageable. And doing it was so easy, it seems ridiculous to pay almost $20 for something that took maybe 10 minutes!

Super cute styles and inspiration!
I’ve given my 18 month old son trims but so hard to really give it style.
I’d love to see suggestions from other Mom’s Barber Shop of tools, clean up tips and how to keep the LOs occupied/steady during their cut. It would be most helpful for the newbies out there!
