Some cliches are true. Time really does fly once you become a parent. In just two short months Baby P will be turning one! I’m choosing to ignore just how emotional that makes me and am diving headfirst into party planning instead.

I’m planning a garden party theme since Baby P’s first name is floral sounding. “Roses for Rosalie,” if you will. The theme would be more appropriate for a spring birthday, however, it will still be pretty warm in our part of the country on party day. I’m envisioning pink and green decor with touches of gold, lots of flowers, yummy food, and a fun smash cake.

Here is some of my rose-themed inspiration:

– I love these invitations. They are simple and perfect for the party theme.

– Baby P will need a party outfit. I love this smocked dress.

– This personalized birthday chalkboard sign from Mrs. Cowgirl’s Etsy shop will look great on the fireplace mantle.

– I’ll also make a banner from Baby P’s monthly photos to hang on the mantle.

– The pink flower birthday banner will look cute hanging in the dining room above the buffet. I like the coordinating cake banner for the smash cake as well.

– A circle garland similar to this one will make a great backdrop for smash cake photos. I’ve DIYed a circle garland before, and it was a quick and easy project. I’ll alternate circles and flowers in shades of pink and green.

– I have a lot of jars and vases that can be filled with flowers. I’ll make some simple arrangements to place around the house the day of the party.

– These mini watering cans will make a great party favor for the kids. I think they would be a fun bath toy. I could personalize them and fill them with bath fizzies.

– It wouldn’t be a party without food! I don’t have a full menu planned yet, but I think this would be an adorable way to serve some fresh fruit and veggies. One thing for certain is there will definitely be cake.
