I had so much fun with our weekly photo project when Jackson was a newborn – it was so hard to remember to take photos of him every week, and the bigger he got the harder it was, but I’m so glad we have those photos to look back on!
There are so many fun and creative ways that you can take weekly or monthly photos of your baby, I thought it would be a fun idea to round up some ideas for how to make yours unique!
I love that they used a little toddler chair and that he’s in the same outfit each month! (Via Rachael Spiegel Photography)
Take simple photos and add little details about how milestones that week. I love the neutral colors in this one! (Via Paper and Oats)
Use some fun, coordinating fabrics and a wooden pendant. You can photoshop the weeks on! (Via Young House Love)
Lay your baby on a colorful quilt and take a photo from above. (Via Life With My Littles)
Use a chair and a cute object to track growth over time. I always love those tiny little babies sitting up in a chair! (Via Two Little Porches)
Take a photos on the same simple backdrop each week and collage them together! This is similar to what we did with Jackson (we used the rug in his room as a backdrop). (Via Keepin’ Up With the Joneses)
LOVE the idea of taking the photo from overhead in the crib! (Via Adorkable Duo)
Use cute little felt letters to spell out each month or week! (Via Famille Summerbelle)
Tie balloons to the chair you use for the photo – add one each month! (Via Momtog)
I love these photos of the baby being held up in the air! Such a fun take on the weekly/monthly photo. (Via Little Meg)
Just use a simple, colorful sheet or fabric as a backdrop and snap a quick photo! As long as you use a similar style each week, it’ll look cohesive! (Via Instructables)
Another cute balloon photo. I love that they also included the stuffed animal for scale. (Via A Crafted Passion)

This is a super simple photo to take (just on a white blanket or sheet), then you can photoshop in some notes about that week or month. (Via The Child At Heart)
It’d be a lot of work to create these floral props, but goodness they’re beautiful! (Via Project Nursery)

This blogger did month-by-month photos in the same chair until a year, then switched to yearly photos. I love that it’s in the same chair all along, how fun would those photos be to look back on?! (Via Making it Lovely)
How cute are these photos of the mom holding the baby?! This is such a fun perspective, and I LOVE these photos. (Via Simply Rosie)

These are so fun to see. I did Will’s monthly photos his first year on twelve different blankets we had been gifted for him and they turned out pretty cute, IMHO.
I love the ones of the kiddo being held – high in the air and against mama’s chest. So lovely!

Love all these ideas! We did/are doing a book series with both boys. Each month is a different book, and then my hubby adds the stats to the photo.
