Get ready to decorate for Easter with the happiest, hoppiest, spring bunny balloons! With this free printable your kids can create their own wacky wobbling bunny friends and choose from several face designs too.

You’ll need to help with some parts of this project, but kids can do the rest. And don’t be afraid to let them do the cutting so they get some scissors skills practice as they make this decoration.

Make one bunny or a bunch, but whatever you choose, let’s hop to it!

You will need:

Card Stock
Plain Paper
4 Pennies
Balloon
Drinking Straw
Scissors
Hole Punch
Clear Tape
Glue Stick

Bunny Balloons Printable PDF

Print the feet page of the PDF file onto card stock. Print the other pages with the facial features onto regular paper and set them aside.

Cut out around the feet shape and then cut on the line at the back of the feet.

Use the hole punch to make a hole at the end of the line, near the center of the feet. It can be a little tricky to get the hole punch in that far, but it’s possible!

Tape the four pennies on the bottom of the feet piece so they are spread out a little.

Inflate the balloon and tie a knot. Slide the knot along the slit in the feet so that it fits in the hole. The balloon should now stand up on its own, although it’s likely to wobble around a little.

Cut out the ears and fold the bottom tabs to the back. Cut the drinking straw in half and tape one piece to the back of each ear.

Glue or tape the ears to the top of the balloon. The glue stick will hold them, but a piece or two of tape will help hold them a little more steady.

Cut out the rest of the pieces, including all the eyes, noses/mouths, and the tail. You only need one set of face pieces for each balloon bunny, but it’s fun to have options to mix and match.

Encourage your child to try out how the different pieces look together, including changing the placement of the pieces or even using two different eyes!

Use a glue stick to attach the pieces to the balloon.

Glue the tail to the back of the balloon, because a bunny needs a fluffy tail, right?

Your wacky bunny balloon is all finished and ready to hang out! A mixed up face can make this rabbit look a little wacky, but so does the way it starts to sway with the breeze!

Sometimes your bunny balloon will even look like it’s ready for a nap. But then, after hiding all those Easter eggs, it shouldn’t be surprising that he (or she!) is feeling tired.

After you finish the first bunny balloon, why not make a few more? Use pastel balloons for a rainbow of silly spring bunnies that will bring joy to your Easter decorations!
