This is what my belly looks like 11 days after giving birth:
I look about 3-4 months pregnant if you compare it to my 19 week belly shot below.
These are my belly shots 8 days and 18 days after Charlie was born:
Pretty amazing how much my stomach shrunk from day 8 to day 18! I gained 45 pounds with Charlie, and about half that with Olive, so I think my stomach is shrinking faster this time around. I lost all the weight I gained with Charlie in about 5 months, but my stomach never went back to its prebaby state. I should get a belly minimizer to see if it helps, but I found it so uncomfortable to wear last time, that I ended up not using it. I guess I must sacrifice for the sake of vanity!
As far as postpartum symptoms, I’m still sore but Day 10 was the first day that I started feeling a little better. I can’t live without my peri bottle, donut, and Colace and it still hurts to cough, but I think it’s slowly going to get better from now on. I still feel like I have to poop all day long and it’s probably caused by a combination of hemorrhoids + excessive gas. So attractive? On the plus side my headaches and incontinence have improved. I’m no longer miserable all day long and can actually semi-function now. The hardest part is I can’t really sit for any extended period of time, so I’m always laying down. It’ll probably be awhile before I’m back to my normal self, but at least there’s been some improvement. I’ll keep you posted!
Did you use a belly minimizer and did it help flatten your stomach?

I did use a belly minimizer – I found it helpful to put on my belly band, and then the belly minimizer/girdle on top of that. Less itchy that way. Totally helped!
Immediately after delivery I looked at myself in the mirror and was horrified and put that girdle on ASAP. By 3 days postpartum, I looked maybe 3 months pregnant.

totally unrelated question. where did you get the tanks that you are wearing for olive’s belly shots? i can’t really tell, but they’re not ribbed, right?

@aql1211 – they have a small rib. they’re just gap’s basic tanks and gap still carries them. i got them in a bunch of different colors to do these belly shots.

i remember i used to think that as soon as the baby was born, your stomach would magically shrink back down. i remember seeing a coworker at the hospital after giving birth and was shocked to see her look so pregnant! i guess i was a lil naive. haha.

As soon as i had my son, well within 6 weeks after having him i dropped 20lbs. I only gained 11lbs the whole time i was pregnant with my son. I am thinner now then i was before i got pregnant. CRAZY!

I used the belly band and I think it helped… I was able to go down 15 pounds within the first few weeks.
