Starting when I was 9 weeks pregnant, I’ve been taking weekly bump photos so that I could document my body’s change over time. Here’s a collage I put together of all the pictures so far (click on the picture for a larger view):
The chalkboard I use in these photos was actually used to direct guests to the reception at our wedding. We made a bunch of them to use as signs for various things: locations, menu, seating, guestbook, etc. I also plan to use them for our shower and for weekly baby photos!
I love pictures of feet, so I had to include them in my weekly photos. Maybe I’ll do weekly baby feet pictures, as well!
Here are some milestones from the first five months of my pregnancy:
7 weeks – saw the heartbeat on an ultrasound for the first time.
10 weeks – nausea kicked in, but never enough to make me actually throw up. I actually liked feeling nauseous because it reassured me that things were progressing.
11 weeks – saw a baby (not just a blob) on the ultrasound and it waved at us!
12 weeks – told work and they took it very well. I was really nervous since I had just started at a new school.
14 weeks – felt the baby move for the first time! I was at work, sitting at my desk, while the students worked independently. It felt like little butterfly flutters.
15 weeks – heard the heartbeat for the first time on the doctor’s doppler. So cool!
16 weeks – almost passed out at the mall. I was by myself at H&M and waiting in line to buy a belt, when I felt like I was going to go down. I finally realized I had to get out of there and get a water and a chair before I completely embarrassed myself. Luckily, I was ok.
18 weeks – Mr. TTT felt the baby move for the first time!
20 weeks – anatomy scan! We had the tech write down the gender on a card and didn’t open it until Mr. TTT’s birthday, which happened to be on Thanksgiving this year.
21 weeks – a stranger asked when I was due for the first time. It was risky, on her part (I don’t think I was obviously pregnant at this point), but she was the barista and I did ask for decaf… and made her confirm that she heard me (I’ve had them screw it up before).
23 weeks – first photo shoot as a family of five… sort of. Yes, the dogs count as family, but does the baby?
24 weeks – accepted as a blogger for Hellobee!! Yipee!
I love documenting each week of pregnancy, but it’s getting harder and harder to find the motivation or time to do it. I know it will be worth it in the end, so that’s why I haven’t missed a week… yet.
Have you/would you take weekly bump photos?

This is adorable! I wanted to do something similar, but with the size I’m at, I wouldn’t be able to tell a difference until like, week 30. LOL. But this is soooo cute. AND you have really nice hair!

Super cute – I love bump pics
And I love the idea of using a chalk board to mark the weeks, too.

@chopsuey119: I am so crazy about the outfits and shoes. It’s not possible for me not to repeat shoes, but I do try not to wear the same ones twice in a row. I literally plan my wardrobe around what I’ll wear for that week’s bump photo! I’m a little crazy…

@HabesBabe: Thanks! I’ve been trying to be better about styling it more often because I tend to get lazy and it looks like such a mess.

Your photos are great! I have taken weekly shots too – in the same outfit but in front of my mirror. Not nearly as cute as yours! My biggest difference was from 13 to 14 weeks which occurred right after Thanksgiving…probably the turkey : )
PS where do you get your maternity clothing – very stylish!

I am trying very hard to do this but as I reached the 3rd trimester I found myself skipping week after week just because it is getting harder to set the camera up, running back and forth, squatting up and down and making sure everything looks good and in focus (and no the husband won’t help. I’ve asked).
Besides, I started the process with the same outfit week after week (so supposedly it is more apparent we notice the bump change), but now the skirt that I used and fitted fine I can no longer pull it over my belly anymore! Which gave me even less incentive.

I had planned on taking weekly photos as well but ended up with only 6 sets of preggo photos. Although, I might have been more motivated to take photos if I had cute preggo outfits like yours

@winniebee: Thanks so much! Some of the dresses are non-maternity, but most of my clothes are Old Navy, Target, Gap Outlet, or H&M. I like inexpensive pieces that I can mix and match to get the most out of everything.

@irene: I know I will hate doing these at the end when I’m huge and no longer feeling cute, but I really hope I can stick with it since I’ve come so far!
