My husband and I had our second baby shower (you can read about our first baby shower here), and it was so amazing! A couple of my talented friends put it together, and I was so inspired by all their hard work and ideas, I just had to share. Everything was handmade, crafty and thrifty… they know me too well!! Take a peek and see how our backyard was transformed into this beautiful set up!

A DIY fabric banner is the perfect touch to any party or event because it adds a fun and whimsical element that’s truly eye-catching. You can make it as long or as short as you want, which makes it perfect for a backdrop I love the vintage inspired fabrics and colors they chose!

Why not serve your beverages in something less conventional and have some fun with it? The girls were so clever to serve water and fresh lemonade out of baby bottles. How appropriate for a baby shower!

If you need something pretty and feminine to add to your table spread, baby’s breath is simple, cheap and perfectly sweet. It might only be used as a filler in most bouquets, but they pop in large quantities. Place them in  lightly tinted vases to add a little something extra. It’s such a small detail, but it sure goes a long way!

Handwritten notes and clothes pins add a personal touch. It’s so thrifty and crafty — I love when the two meet! To purchase these super cute clothes pins, click here.

Having a basket full of scrap strips of fabric is cute enough, but having guests write a sweet message to baby or a little prayer is even better. Then tie the messages around a wooden first letter of  the baby name (or if the name is a surprise use the first letter of the last name). This is such an adorable idea! You can read them later and always tie them back on so they won’t get lost!

Of course, no shower is complete without the table of sweets. There was an array of all sorts of yummies: donuts, cookies, candies and pies!

Thanks to everyone that made the shower possible and to all our amazing friends and family for coming to support us in our adoption process, both in Canada and the US! We love you all and can’t wait for what’s to come!
