I really enjoy making my favorite kiddo clothes last, but I think my husband might enjoy it even more – he loves that instead of shopping the stores for new items, I shop the clothes the kids have outgrown to find new uses. Here are 3 more tips to help put a budget friendly smile on your husband’s face. 3 more bang for your buck tips!
I always buy my son’s shorts long and roll them up, or cut his old jeans at an extra long length. He gets a few years of use out of each pair (make sure the jeans or shorts have an adjustable inside waist, or this tip won’t work too well). Save their jeans or shorts from this past summer for next year’s long rolled up cutoffs! Zara denim shorts from above.
This little cardigan my little one is wearing in the photo is a size 3-6 months, she is 2 1/2 years old! It fit totally different a year and a half ago, but it is still in regular rotation today because of how cute it looks cropped. Crewcuts snow leopard cardigan from above.
Which tip will you be adding to your kiddo’s wardrobe?

I just love your tips!! Totally did the cardigan thing yesterday with a dress. It was a tad small but it is now a “cropped” cardigan.

I love the idea of repurposing things like this! A little girl I watched for years was the queen of this, your cardigan one refined me of her especially, she swipes her sisters for this purpose all the time! Leggings become capris, dresses are tunics, she even squeezed into a baby tshirt over another bright shirt to create a neat peplum like look. I swear she is the most fashionable person I have ever meet and she is 5! I will have to tip her off on the head bands!

Ooh those are really great ideas!! You dress your little ones so cute! I’m definitely gonna try some of these. My twins have outgrown their newborn headbands. I was so sad cuz they were barely worn. Now they’ll have a new life! The headbands are too tight on their heads…will they fit on their bellies?? I guess we’ll see! Love the cardigan idea too. I can’t believe your daughter can still fit into baby clothes. How old is she?

@cindy it might be a bit (or a lot) of a stretch with newborn headbands, since they are super tiny. Sometimes I cut off the elastic and then hot glue the bow/flower to a clip and then she can wear it all over again! Thank you, she is 2 1/2 years old.
