It’s funny looking at the teething chart posted by Mrs. Bee. It shows the bottom central incisors arriving at 6-10 months. You can imagine my surprise when both of Baby H’s started arriving a couple of weeks back at 4 1/2 months! Yikes. We so weren’t prepared for our sweet baby to get some chompers already! But much to my surprise, she’s done remarkably well and only has had one or two days of fussiness. And even through her obvious discomfort she has been her usual smiling self!

Not too long ago Mrs. Superhero shared her teething survival kit so I thought I’d share what’s been working (and not working!) in our household. Because even though Baby H’s mood has been pretty good, she wants to chew on everything and she definitely has obvious bouts of discomfort!

1. Sophie the Giraffe: Of course Sophie is a tried and true teether! Baby H is getting better with holding Sophie and finding the right parts to chomp on. I don’t think it provides her a ton of relief but since she always wants to put things in her mouth, Sophie is a great option!

2. Chewbeads: I was given a Chewbeads necklace as a gift and I absolutely love it! I was skeptical at first but then Mr. H and I were at a wedding so I threw this on with my dress. Everyone complimented me on my necklace and Baby H had something easy to chew on that couldn’t be dropped. It’s perfect for when you’re out and about.

3. Hyland’s Teething Tabs: I’ve tried to use these sparingly and only when Baby H is at her fussiest. They do seem to provide some relief and help her sleep.

4. RaZbaby RaZ-Berry Silicone Teether: I thought this would be great but so far Baby H could care less about it! I’m hoping that she’ll find it helpful as more teeth come in.

5. Mam Baby Cooler Teether: This is the biggest hit so far! It’s easy for her to hold onto and it’s perfect for her little mouth. It’s the only thing that she’ll keep in her mouth for long periods of time.

6. Zoli Baby Munch Silicone Teether: Baby H doesn’t love or hate this teether. Sometimes she’ll sit there and chew on it and other times she shows no interest.

7. Sassy Ladybug Teether: She’s still a bit too small for these bugs (but they’re so cute!). I’ll hold it in her mouth because it does provide great cooling relief for her gums but she can’t really hold it in herself.

For being completely unprepared for teeth, I feel like we’re doing pretty well – we have an arsenal of teethers to help in any situation!

Here I am wearing my fantastic chewbeads necklace…and of course, Baby H is gnawing on her favorite teether – her fist!
