Chloe turned one last week!  I’ve been planning this party for what seems like forever, so I was super excited to see everything turn out exactly as I wanted it to!  I started pinning ideas for her party before she was even 6 months old!  Her favorite character is Minnie Mouse, so it only seemed fitting to have a Glam Minnie Mouse Party.  I designed her invitations and all of the paper goods for her party.  I stuck to a pink, gold, black and white color scheme, and incorporated polka dots as well.  We hosted 45 people for her first birthday party.  My sister even surprised me by flying home from Washington, D.C.!

I didn’t get as many photos as I hoped I would, and I completely forgot about taking detail shots.  On top of that, I’m the worst photographer *ever*… but I still wanted to share my photos with you!

Our dessert bar showcased her two-tier birthday cake.  We also served smores pops, chocolate covered Minnie oreos, cookies, hershey kisses and reeses cups.  Can you see the stickers on the bottom of the Hershey kisses?   Those were a true labor of love.  My printer wasn’t cooperating, and it took me a very long time to get all of those printed and assembled!

My little gal was super lady-like during the cake smash.  She had no interest in getting dirty whatsoever.  Instead, she’d take a finger full of icing and lick it off.  She even gave her papa a bite!  Then she clapped for herself.  She’s such a sweet little girl!!

We also showcased a Gallery of Firsts, which is an idea that I first saw on Chickabug. I designed Polaroids for her Gallery, then strung them on the fireplace with baker’s twine.  Mini clothespins, that I painted with glitter, held the photos in place.  I printed them as a 4×6 photo at Target, then trimmed them to Polaroid size.  It was a bit time consuming, but I’m so glad I stuck with this project!  The Birthday Billboard, resting on the fireplace, was also featured in Chloe’s First Birthday photoshoot.
