Please welcome the newest mama to join the hive, Mrs. Pen! You may know her from a former lifetime as Coco Bee!

I am absolutely thrilled to be a blogger for Hellobee! I love this site and community and I feel honored to now contribute as a blogger. Hellobee definitely holds a special place in my heart.

The mister and I met in early 2009 and had a whirlwind romance; we were engaged after six months and married nine months later in May 2010.

I was a young wife so having children was definitely not on the radar for me. Fast forward a year to me losing two jobs in a six-month time span, and all of a sudden life didn’t seem so certain and I had no idea what I was going to do anymore! My sister had recently gotten pregnant and we had always talked of having kids together; combine that with a husband that was ready for kids from day one and myself now out of work – we entered the world of TTC! We were so blessed to receive our BFP early, and in February 2012 we welcomed Jacobi to the world and our lives have never been the same!

Cobi, as we call him, is now 9 months old and the happiest, sweetest, curious, playful and  most fun baby ever! He has his daddy’s personality for sure — observant and more distanced in social settings, but a total ham at home!

The mister is a math professor and I am a stay-at-home-mom. We live in a small-town in central Minnesota close to where I grew up, and the mister is from New York. We live here mostly because my family is here — not because we love the crazy cold winters and insanely hot summers! Only in Minnesota does it get to -20 degrees and less than a week later it’s in the 50’s and sunny!

I am really excited to write about my adventures as a stay-at-home-mom. Any SAHM can attest to the fact that it is the most difficult job that you don’t get paid for! Well… scratch that; I get paid in silly faces, dirty laundry, spit-up, baby coos and songs, 12am snuggles, 2am snuggles, 4am snuggles, 6am snuggles… but best of all – baby kisses… mmm love those kisses!

One of the biggest challenges I face is finding enough activities to fill a day. They say the years go fast, but the days go slow and it’s so true. I hope to share the activities and adventures that Cobi and I find to fill each day.

I will also talk about some of my experiences with pregnancy, parenting in the early-months, parenting now as baby approaches toddler-hood, gear-reviews, mini style and living on a budget with a little baby!

Lastly, why I chose Mrs. Pen: since I could read and write, I have been an avid writer! In high school I was the sad teenager who wrote poetry, and eventually music as well. I still have a dream of someday writing and publishing children’s books. In addition to being a writer, I love to draw. Even with pens. There is actually one piece of artwork in Cobi’s room that I drew — a collection of several ink pen drawn owls.

Thanks so much for allowing me to share my life with all of you. I’m thrilled to be taking this journey with the hive!
