The blogger bees have come together to share our favorite clothing stores to shop for little ones. Read on for the scoop on why we love to shop at certain stores!

Gap: It’s my *favorite* place to buy clothes for Lil’ CB. The quality is great for the price you pay and I like to get a mix of classic pieces and trendier ones (i.e. colored chinos) there. I feel that there is a good mix of different styles there, so while we hardly ever buy the graphic tees or cutesy-ish stuff, we get a lot of Lil’ CB’s sweaters and heavier cardigans from Gap. Gap pants also tend to fit my skinny dude best and their jeans are AWESOME and last multiple seasons for my peanut.

H&M: H&M is our go-to place for trendier pieces and accessories. Their full priced styles are so affordable so it’s a great place to stock up on basics, too. We got a ton of long-sleeved shirts for Lil’ CB from H&M this season and he’s been wearing them to school everyday.

Crew Cuts Factory: J. Crew is my favorite store for my own clothes, so it’s not a surprise that I LOVE their children’s line, too! However, I can’t justify the price since Lil’ CB wears clothes for at most a year. The factory line of Crew Cuts clothes is more affordable, and though the quality isn’t as great, the cuteness factor is *almost* the same.

Target: We like a lot of the simple, classic pieces from the Cherokee line at Target. They had/have some super cute sweaters and vintage sweatshirts this season, so I snatched up a few pieces. We also have a few button-downs and basic tees from Target as well. It’s about the same price as H&M and quite convenient (or dangerous) to pop into the little boys’ section while I’m at Target for other things (like, 1-2 times per week!).

I love a lot of the fun, trendy, independent lines like Bobo Choses and Mini Rodini, but I just can’t justify spending that much on clothes since the kids outgrow them so quickly. I’ve received some beautiful gifts from Appaman, Jacadi, Janie and Jack, and Splendid from generous friends and family, but those are also pricier lines that I’ve never shopped myself.

These are the go-to places I shop for Charlie and Olive!

Lulu’s Then & Now – This is a children’s consignment store a couple blocks away from us. I purchased Gap, Janie and Jack, Petit Bateau and more there, but my favorite finds are amazing vintage dresses for Olive. Inventory is always changing, so I pop in 2-3 times a month.

Gap & Old Navy – They pretty much have sales 99% of the time, so I never purchase anything unless they’re having a 25% or 30% off deal. They have great, classic, well made, affordable clothes. Gap tends to run true to size while their pants tend to run long and lean, while Old Navy tends to run a little small. Most of Charlie and Olive’s clothes are from Gap and Old Navy.

Gilt – I’ve been a loyal Gilt Groupe customer since it first launched. I love discovering brands through their site, and I can often buy clothes that would normally be out of my price range. Their toys are definitely not worth it (they’re usually comparably priced or even cheaper on Amazon), but you can get some good deals on clothes and shoes.

Zara – I looooove Zara clothes. Some of the clothes are very affordable (think $7 t-shirts), but their cuter items tend to be $40+ so I have to limit myself or my shopping cart adds up fast because they have so many cute things! I particularly love their coats, shoes, dresses, accessories…. everything!

H&M – I wish H&M had an online store! H&M is often even more affordable than Gap and Old Navy. Their clothes are on trend and while not as well made as Gap, I don’t mind since kids outgrow them so quickly. They have really great, affordable jeans, but they run super duper long. Charlie is wearing size 1 1/2-2 years right now (he’ll be 3 next week) and they fit him perfectly.

Mini Boden – I love Boden’s tights, dresses, and baby clothes. Though I generally don’t like characters on clothing, I like them on Boden’s baby clothes because they add just the right touch of fun without being overly cutesy. Their clothes are excellent quality, they always have at least 15% off coupons online, and you have 1 year to return anything!

Crew Cuts – Crew Cuts added a baby clothing line last year, but it’s mostly comprised of pricey cashmere pieces. Their regular kids’ line starts at age 2, and I adore pretty much everything for boys and girls they sell. The colors, the quality, the selection, the styling — perfection! It is a little pricey, so I only shop there when they’re having one of their rare sales where you get 25% off everything. I’ve purchased a lot of things for Charlie here, and I’m going to be in trouble once Olive fits into their clothes!

My favorite place for baby clothes is Gap. I love the color palette – their pastels are really soft without being sickly-sweet, and their brights are clear and crisp without being garish. Their clothes also feel well made – the material isn’t thin or cheap, and most of it is super soft. I also love a bargain, so between the clearance rack and extra 30% off coupons, I feel like I’m always getting a deal. I can’t wait to find out what Baby Tricycle is so I can stock up on some super cute gender specific clothes.

Also Gap and Old Navy. Gap for some of the classics, Old Navy for just about everything, including jeans and never-ending supplies of Star Wars shirts, since my DH can never stop buying them.

The high-end stuff is adorable, but we also can’t justify the added $$$ when it may only get worn for 6 months.

I suppose from my last style post, it is obvious where we get most of LO’s clothes: Old Navy and Target are always the first go-tos! The main reason is that they have really cute clothes and they are super affordable. I can often find something for $7 or less, and when Old Navy has their in-store sales I stock up! Circo at Target makes some very cute girl clothes!

My next two stores would be baby GAP and H&M. Baby GAP can be expensive, so I only purchase their clothes when they’re on clearance, or I buy them on-line with the 25-30% off coupons I get in my email just about every other day. H&M is also pretty affordable, but it’s a bit of a drive and Target and Old Navy are literally about 1 mile from my house.

Crew Cuts and Zara are on my $$$ list. I love their baby clothes, but these seem to be the priciest! I don’t think I have ever purchased anything there myself for LO, but their clothes are darling.

I love Baby Gap’s clothes for boys under 2. I’ll keep track of my favorite pieces then buy them on sale when they send out an email with a good coupon code. Other than hand-me-downs, baby S’s wardrobe is nearly all from Baby Gap!

I’m just foraying into the world of shopping for clothes, but so far my favorites for baby boys are:

Baby Gap – I like that they have well-made basics that are still cute and a bit preppy. They also have great sale prices.

Old Navy (online) – I love Old Navy’s stuff, but the in-store selection for boys is rather lacking. I prefer to look online as the boy selection is much better that way.

Carter’s – I love Carter’s for a couple of reasons. (1) They actually have a large selection of boys’ clothes. So many stores have about 1/4 of the clothes options for boy as their are for girls. Carter’s is pretty much evenly divided, and they have lots of cute newborn items like the Gerber onesies where the sleeves turn into mittens to keep little fingers from scratching little faces. (2) It’s super cheap and, at least at our local store, has a huge sale section, which makes me feel even better about buying things they’ll only wear for 3 months!

Gymboree – I really like that the pieces from each Gymboree line can be mixed-and-matched with pretty much everything in the line. It means we’ll be able to buy fewer pieces and make more outfits. Added benefit: Even Mr. Blue, who could not remotely be called a fashionisto, can easily put together outfits that will be mama-approved. Gymboree is a little pricey, but you get Gymboree bucks with your purchases, which makes it much cheaper if you’re going to buy there regularly.

Zara – I love, love, love Zara, especially the sweaters and coats. So cute! But it’s pretty spendy when my LOs will only wear them for such a short time, so my Zara purchases will be limited to a few pieces at a time.

I live in a town so small that there is no store for new kids’ clothes, and nowhere near a larger shopping center! So it’s a bit tricky, but I shop at:

Joe Fresh – the brand of Superstore and Extra Foods. Surprisingly stylish and adorable and super cheap. Where I get most of the girls’ clothes.

Tiny Trends – Our local consignment store, I try to go in once a week. I get some Gap and Old Navy stuff there, and the occasional Mexx or Tea Collection outfit will pop up!

Mountain Baby – A nearby kid’s boutique store. I can get good quality shoes and outerwear here, but I generally don’t buy much for clothes as it’s super pricey.

I am a bargain hunter, so quite honestly I shop a lot of local thrift and consignment stores before hitting big box stores!

Gap is definitely my favorite – we have an outlet near our house. The quality is amazing for the price and the styles are so cute, especially for boys!

The Childrens Place – I get so many coupons for TCP and I can often buy items for $2-$5 each. They also have a lot of clearance racks and items are always under $5.

H&M – amazing finds for very little price. The best thing about H&M clothes is how long they fit. The sizes run large, but I started putting Cobi in the size 9-12 mos pants when he was 6 mos and by cuffing the leg and tightening the waist, they fit! I can see them fitting until 18 months even!

Old Navy – at the end of each season the clearance rack is a gold mine! When I was pregnant, I perused their after Christmas sales and found several sweaters for $2-$4!

I’m a sucker for Carters, but I find myself doing a lot of shopping at Old Navy, Baby Gap, Target and The Children’s Place.

Target always seems to have the cutest finds and are the least expensive. I love their skinny jeans for toddlers!

Children’s Place can be a bit pricey, but their outfits are beyond adorable. I like that you can shop by outfit as well as by piece.

Baby Gap and Old Navy both usually have great sales.

I LOVE Janie and Jack, but they’re very pricey. I save shopping there for special occasions, or when they’re having a sale. Some of my favorite outfits for Chloe have come from J&J!

I too am a lover of Target! They seem to pick up a lot of the trends that are circulating, so the kids can look stylish and I don’t have to spend a fortune!

H&M is always a treat since we don’t have one in town. Talk about trendy clothes! I try to stock up as much as possible when we spot one (for myself and the kids!).

Also, I keep my eyes open for lightly used clothing. Sometimes you can find the most unique things if you look carefully. I recently found the cutest navy knit cardigan. It looked brand new and had no obvious issues you might be concerned with when buying used clothing.

Target & Old Navy – these are the two places I check first because they’re so cheap! Old Navy has amazing sales all the time, and I’m constantly scouring the Target clearance racks for clothes. Kids grow out of clothes so fast, especially in the first two years… it’s hard to justify spending $$$ on nicer items. My main priority in dressing Toddler Heels is making sure her clothes are weather-appropriate, and also comfortable enough for her to run, crawl, and play in!

My favorite places to shop for clothes for Liam are Old Navy and Carters for inexpensive, comfortable everyday clothes and Gap for special pieces. I would shop at H&M more if they had online shopping available because I love their affordable and stylish options, but I try to avoid the mall as much as possible these days.

I’m not gonna lie. I dread shopping for Spencer. DREAD. IT. He, however, loves it. So I do it often enough so that I feel like he’s getting a say in what he wears (which makes for much smoother mornings)… but I really limit where we shop. It comes down to babyGap and Target really. Both places have classic styles that mix and match well and—most importantly—slimmer cuts. That’s huge for us. Plus, both have trendier Ts without the “mass market” characters on them, which I love.

We signed up for Wittlebee the summer (from a post here actually!) And while it was a ROCKY start for us, I can now say that they have been our saving grace. While I don’t love all the pieces, I do love having outfits just show up. And usually, what I’m a little “blah” about, Spencer loves. Worst case, it ends up being a “school outfit” for us…

Baby Gap – my sister works for their corporate office, so she buys things with her (fantastic!) discount. As much as I’d love to buy things other places, I feel guilty about it because we get such a great deal. So we stick with getting her “nicer” clothes from here – dresses, pajamas, nicer shirts, etc. And I love that I know exactly what will fit Baby H from there and the quality is great.

Old Navy – since there are always sales I like to stock up on “play clothes” for Baby H – onesies and comfy pants/outfits that I don’t care about getting messy. And again, because we shop from here consistently I know exactly what will fit well.

Target – this has become my go-to for baby jeggings! They’re super cheap and the quality is great. Baby H is growing so quickly that I don’t want to invest very much in pants because it seems like we blink and they’re too short!

We love to shop at Janie & Jack (they have the cutest “dress up” clothes for nice occasions. My other favorite haunt is Baby Gap (cute stuff for every day). My VERY FAVORITE place to shop for Paige is Zara kids (online shop). The clothes are SO cute, stylish, and not too pricey! Paige has gotten complimented on everything she’s ever worn from there. They also have the most stylish shoes.
