My children are extremely excited for the upcoming holidays, and every day they ask how many days until Christmas? I thought it would be a good idea to bridle some of their excitement by doing an art project, so we made some modern Christmas trees out of paper!
You’ll only need a few supplies, that you most likely already have in your home!
1) You will need to cut four strips of paper in a variety of colors.
We cut ours to: (for a 8.5″ x 11″ piece of paper)
strip 1) 7″ x 1.5″
strip 2) 5.5″ x 1.5″
strip 3) 4″ x 1.5″
strip 4) 2.5″ x 1.5″
2) Cut a paper “tree trunk” to about 1 3/4″ and glue it to the bottom center of the paper
3) Start gluing on the strips of paper, from biggest to smallest.
4) Make a “star” for the top of the tree, about 1.5″ and glue it to the top.
You can customize the colors to whatever your children like! They’ll have a lot of fun cutting paper, and making their very own paper tree!
