Okay, I know this one is probably gonna be touch and go with some. But overall I think it’s a pretty darn cute trend, and definitely worth bringing up. If you are think overalls should stay on the farm or with the 10 and under crowd, are on the fence about the whole thing, or heck yes I love them, here is a quick round up of the the best and better priced overall options. Maybe an overall look will help change your mind about them (okay, enough with the bad jokes).
one . two . three . four . five
Wearing the overall shorts might be one of the easier ways to get in on this trend – I don’t know why, but it’s much easier to throw clothing concerns in the wind when the weather is crazy hot and you just want to stay comfortable and cool. (These will surely keep you comfy, and sorta cool since they are shorts). I have my eyes on number one — affordable and a pretty great feminine fit and color. Here’s how I would style them:
Overalls (favorite, but also the most expensive)
. purple blouse . brown sandals with heel . black booties .
. cream lace tee . sparkly gold flat sandals .
. basic black tee . floral converse.
When I wear overalls, I usually think of them as a pair of boyfriend jeans and pretty much style them accordingly. They are pretty casual and not the most feminine, so pairing them with pretty shoes is a good and easy bet for your feet. Really any shoes will work, my favorites being a cute pair of ankle booties or feminine sandals. As for tops, keep it simple – something with a bit of a feminine touch is a good juxtaposition against overalls. And maybe keep away from plaid button downs, unless farmer chic is the look of the day. It’s a hard one to pull off, though I’m sure it can be done.
So what side of the fence do you lay on? Overalls or no overalls?

This is why I need your posts! I didn’t even know overalls were a trend! I loved wearing them back in highschool, but not sure if I could pull them off now. I feel like they might do a good job of hiding that postpartum pudge…

Those all look so cute, but I’m not sure I’m ready to jump back in yet!

Oh lordy, have overalls come back?? Shows how behind on trends I am…
It’s definitely something that I couldn’t pull off at 10 (I have horrifying pictures to prove it) and my hips have only gotten bigger since

I already look frumpy enough without overalls! I love them on my toddler!

I love number three. The shorts scare me though! Perhaps if I lived in a more au courant area, but those still remind me of full house/blossom/babysitters club.

I have noticed this trend, but I haven’t come to terms with it yet! I don’t want to say I would never wear them (I said that about skinny jeans!) but I just can’t see how they could ever be that flattering on a curvy girl.
Totally had a pair in junior high.

Yikes. I don’t think they are flattering on 99% of adult women.

@Mrs. Tricycle: I didn’t fall for them, until I tried a pair on that fit – then I was hooked.

This looks cute, but I honestly think that only little kids and teenagers can get away with overalls. I’ve seen women wearing this around the city and I swear that I’ve been transported back in time.

interesting… but I think only tall and thin women can wear this trend. Cute though! but it does kind of bring me back to the 90’s

I can’t do it. I did it all thru HS. I have to say that I even kinda cringe when I see them on kids now. Is that horrible?

This is one trend I cannot get behind. I cringe when I see high school/jr high pictures of me in overalls.

Oh gosh.. I can’t believe this is back… I am too old to be rocking the overalls. I caught this trend back in the 90s.

I can’t get down with overalls. But I respect those who can pull them off!

This is cute.. maybe if I were younger and in my 20s.. but being in my 30s this harkens me back to high school/early college.. I would definitely feel weird.

Don’t think I can get onboard this time around!

I think this has an expiration age of 24… Any older than that, and it’s just silly.

This brings flashbacks of leaving one strap unhooked, the “cool” way to wear overalls in the late 8os/early 90s. ACK!! I am definitely not cool enough to pull off overalls.

No way I can pull them off.

I’ve never owned a pair and will leave the overall wearing to my kids
