Our baby girl is growing!

Stats

She is currently 13.1 lbs and 24 inches long. Quite a growth spurt since our four month update! She is wearing a mix of 0-3 month and 3-6 month clothing, and we are just about to switch over to size 2 diapers.

Eating

As I mentioned in my earlier post, we are now supplementing with formula (hence the weight gain!). Typically she’ll breastfeed twice a day (first thing in the morning and once in the late afternoon), then take bottles of formula for all other feedings.

Sleeping

I am so grateful every day that we have such a good sleeper! She goes to bed around 8pm every night and is up around 5 or 6am the next day. She will typically eat and fall back asleep until around 7am, then we’re up for the day.

Baby Markers is finally taking regular naps! We are down to an average of 3 naps a day. I believe this can be attributed to the formula – with a full tummy she was able to take longer naps, since she was no longer snacking all day. We’re currently in the middle of nap training so I don’t have to rock and sing her to sleep for each and every one – very detailed post coming on that process!

Development

Baby M is ready to get a move on. She’s mastered getting up on her hands and knees, rocks back and forth and desperately tries to crawl forward – but usually ends up in a face plant. She’s sitting up on her own with little assistance, and she has even gotten herself into a seated position on her own. I’ll even find her in her crib after naps rocking back and forth trying so hard to move forward! I have no doubt she’ll get it down in no time.

I feel like she has grown and changed so much in the last month. She giggles when she’s tickled, lights up when mom or dad come in the room, and intentionally grabs for her toys. Her personality is shining through and she’s such a happy, playful little baby. Her new thing is to screech and scream constantly at the top of her lungs. I mimic her and we go back and forth – she can go on for hours!

Likes: rolling around on the floor, trying to crawl, sitting up on her own, being tickled, playing with the dog and tugging on her ears, walks in the stroller, swimming, bathtime, peekaboo

Dislikes: being put down for naps, being held for too long, being burped in the middle of a bottle, finding that her mom has left the room, very long car rides

I’ve thought this at the end of every month, but this past month has been the most fun by far!
