Last week, Papa Y and I added another member to the Yo-Yo family. Meet Baby Y (2.0):

Snug as a bug

He arrived two days past his due date and was a beefy 9 pounds, 10 ounces and 22 inches long. Given his size, I’m so thankful delivery went smoothly. Interestingly, the nursery nurses insist the scale in our room was off and that he was actually over 10 pounds! And as you can see, he’s not lacking in the hair department, either.

Thanks to wonderful family, friends and neighbors, I’ve had help for the past week, but reality is crashing in now as I figure out how to solo parent with a toddler and a newborn. Fortunately, Little Y is enamored with the baby and is usually quite gentle, asking to kiss, hug and “pet” him.

Mama Y and Little Y meet baby

We seem to have a good sleeper and a really, really good eater on our hands so far (knock on wood). Our pediatrician nicknamed Baby Y “Hungry Muffin,” which is particularly fitting, though Papa Y prefers to call him “Tiny.” Hopefully I’ll find time to write more, but right now I’m trying to soak in all the newborn snuggles I can.

Much love to the ‘Bee,
