I knew what I wanted Juliet’s nursery to look like long before she was ever born. I think this is the room I would love to have for myself if I didn’t share a room with a boy who has his own opinions and tastes too.  We have only recently started working on Juliet’s room as she has been sleeping in our bedroom and we were working on other parts of the home, but it’s finally coming together.  We still have to get some last minute things to tie the room together, and I’m working on some DIYs as well which I will share in some other posts, but I thought I would share the ideas and inspirations I had when planning her room.

Crib //  Dresser  //  Chandelier  //  Glider  //  Bookshelf  // Mirror

It started when I found this beautiful crib bedding called With a Flourish at Land of Nod (it is now unavailable) a few years back when I only had Drake.  I love light purples, lavenders, lilacs, etc. and knew if I ever had a daughter, her room would be that color.  Damask pattern is also a love of mine. I thought that bedding would be perfect, but by the time I had Juliet, the set was gone.

I was sad that the bedding I wanted was gone, but reasoned that the part I loved the most about it was the damask pattern on the bumper (which I would never use), the quilt (which I also wouldn’t really use except maybe for decoration) and the skirt. I decided that maybe I could just find a way to use damask in the room in another way.

I knew I wanted to create a space for Juliet that she could grow into vs a baby nursery which we would have to update as she grew.  I am lucky that Mr Chocolate is quite handy and with some Craigslist/antique finds as well as some DIYing, I hope when you see the finished room it has that polished elegant look I was aiming for.

I hope soon I can have a reveal post to show you how well we did!
