It’s just about time for that winter hat to come off, which means it’s also time to start doing that hair again. I have to admit, one of my favorite parts about winter is really only having to do the bottom half of my hair. Generally the top is plagued with hat hair anyways, so it feels more like I embrace winter hair rather than fall into lazy habits. Spring is usually a no winter hat zone, thank goodness. It’s also a great time to get a new haircut or color and most definitely a great time to try out a new hairstyle, especially one that involves the top and bottom of the hair.

BANGS
– Are way in, but really did they ever go out of style? It’s the straight cut bang and on the runways it’s the full out bowl cut bang, but I’m not sure that will make the smoothest transition to the street – even though it is pretty amazing. images: top + bottom

THE PIXIE OR UNDERCUT PIXIE
– A chic pixie, but for spring the extra hit is the bit of an undercut. Possibly adds an extra pain when you want to grow it out, by the looks of how cool it looks it’s probably worth it. image: top + bottom.

ROMANTIC BRAID
– A little on the messy side, loose tendrils and pulled apart pieces. A little less polished and fancy than the braids from last spring/summer. image: top + bottom.

THE CLAVICUT
– A mid-length bob, cut just below the shoulders. A perfect length, easy to wear up or down. image: top + bottom.

QUIFF
– The pouf is back; it’s best worn casually and a little messy. Not as slick or teased as the last time it hit our heads. image

DEEP SIDE PART
– It was the part for fall and winter and it’s continuing into spring. image

MERMAID WAVES
– A little more smooth and natural than last spring/summer, but texture is the name of the game. image

THE BOB
– In several lengths, anything above the shoulder will do. The chin length almost 20’s era bob is the super trendy look of the season, which would probably be the perfect length if you were growing out the pixie. image: top + bottom.

SLEEK LOW PONY TAIL
– Deep side part or no deep side part, but extra trend points for the part. The sleek, straight low pony is the pony rage this season. image.

WINDSWEPT UP DO
– Again, extra trend points for a deep side part. The same relaxed romantic look that is happening in the braid is carried over into up do’s too.
