For Juliet’s birthday, she received a wonderful little ride on car from a friend of mine. Unfortunately a piece was missing from the toy and when I went to exchange it, I was told the toy was being discontinued for other issues and was given a store credit instead. Since I really liked the idea of a ride on toy for Juliet, I figured I would do some research and find another one for her to have. Drake has had this digger ride-on toy since he was around 2 and Juliet likes to play with it. I also thought it might be cute if they could race each other through the empty dining room and living room we currently have when they get older.  I narrowed down my choices to these:

1) Little Tikes Go and Grow Lil Rollin Giraffe  |  2) Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Puppy Sis Stride to Ride  |  3) Prince Lionheart Wheely Ladybug |  4) Fisher Price Rollin Tunes Ride-on Zebra  |  5) V-Tech Sit to Stand Alphabet Train

In the end I went with the one I didn’t care for as much, but thought that Juliet would like the most — the Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Puppy. For some reason I just thought Juliet would like this puppy and would be drawn to the face and the light up nose. I also thought she would really like feeding the puppy the shape treats.

I was right — Juliet loves this puppy and is always crawling around it. She pushes the buttons, dances to the songs, and uses the puppy to stand. When we place her on it and push her on it, she giggles and squeals. She feeds it treats and knows immediately where to find them again to do it again.

What’s even more amazing is how entertained Drake is by the dog. He also loves feeding it treats and he has fun pushing Juliet on it, though his rides are a bit more hair raising for her. I even find that the songs are more catchy than annoying and happily sing along with the kids.

The puppy converts to a walker and I like how the wheels aren’t really that slick or fast, so I don’t feel like Juliet will move and lose balance too quickly. I dont plan on letting her walk without me by her side though and I like that she can’t pull up the handle by herself; its’ locked down and needs to be released, which I don’t think a child could figure out.

Overall I am delighted we bought this toy for the sheer reason of how much delight it has brought in our home. I scoured all the stores to find a girl version (and paid $10 extra for it!), but she was worth it in the end.
