With Christmas approaching, family members are asking what Little Oats wants. At 14 months old, she doesn’t WANT much of anything (other than a metric ton of yogurt raisins), but I pulled together a list of things she might like. And along with that, this list of things that seem to be universally loved by the 12-18 month crowd.
1. Musical instruments like this Pound and Tap Bench with Slide Out Xylophone from Hape Toys.
2. Push toys like the Hape Wonder Walker.
3. Bath toys like the Yookidoo Flow n Fill Spout.
4. Board books
5. Building blocks like the Fisher Price Shakira First Steps Collection Stack n’ Learn Alphabet Blocks (launches Dec. 1 but available for pre-order now)
6. Cars/rolling toys: Fisher Price Little People Little Movers School Bus
8. Shape sorter
What will you be getting your 1 year old this Christmas?

We got a hand me down #7 (ahem, thank you Mrs. High Heels!) and Baby Pencil already loves it at 7 months! Super cute and I like how they even made the corners flat in case they knock into it.

You can’t go wrong with books!
Our girl got very frustrated with her shape sorter.

I was so excited for #7 but it was a total flop. I sold it and moved on after about a year. I love the look of #1 and the pounding is fun, but the sound quality of the xylophone was really disappointing. The tent and tunnel were both huge hits here and had lots of staying power! Blocks did/do too – we can’t get enough of blocks

My twins were one last year and are still playing with their ride-on cars and corn poppers! You might want to add those to your list.
