Hello there! I am thrilled to join each of you fabulous parents in sharing our parenting journeys here on Hellobee.  I am mother to a joyful, energetic six month old son, who loves smiling and absolutely loathes naps.

My partner Mr. Milk and I gleefully welcomed William to our family this past August, after a whirlwind year of moving back to the U.S. after two years in Cambodia, beginning new jobs, buying a new home and selling our old one. We had just decided to patiently wait to have a child when we learned that our little person would be joining us (ah, I can just hear the wicked laughter of the gods in that one!).  Despite the insanity of all of these changes, Will is just the best thing ever, and I think I love the role of ‘Mama’ more than any I’ve previously held.

Mr. M and I met eleven years ago, in college, and we married nearly five years ago in May of 2010.  I blogged about our wedding as Mrs. Pencils on Weddingbee – so if we met there first, hello friend!

Mr. Milk and I live in the metro DC area, both work outside the home, and absolutely love adventuring together, both at home and around the world.

I am excited to share our stories and lessons learned about equal-partner, semi-crunchy, secular parenting, exclusively pumping after four months of beautiful breastfeeding, and laughing through the harder times of raising a kid. We have a five year plan that includes moving abroad to live and work, so eventually I hope to regale with you tales of my kids speaking various languages far better than myself!
