Now that it is warm outside, we have finally put together a water table for Little Lion! Ours is nothing fancy… just a under-bed storage bin that we placed on top of a small table outside. Little Lion loves splashing, pouring, dumping, and filling up the bed of his dump truck, but I wanted to find some more creative ways to use our table that I can pull out when we need something new and exciting! Below I have compiled a list of fun, inexpensive materials that can be kept handy for a quick addition to the water table. Throwing a few of them together will allow for many fun combinations!
And for some creative inspiration, below are 5 simple activities to get you started!
Materials: pool noodle, foam sheets, straws, scissors, hole punch
Materials: Whisk, dish soap, cups and scoops, food coloring (optional), glitter (optional)
Materials: Green foam sheets, scissors, marbles (use only with older children or under close supervision), plastic frogs, food coloring (optional)
Materials: shaving cream, squeeze bottles, liquid watercolors (or water colored with food coloring)
Materials: ice trays, plastic containers, food coloring or colored bath drops

I seriously can’t wait until the weather is nicer so we can try these! I am so excited for this type of play with my lo. I am also now kicking myself for not grabbing the adorable frogs I saw at the toy store this morning!

Whisking bubbles and shaving cream with food coloring are new to me – thank you!
We like doing a “car wash” where we let her squirt the soap into a container of water. We give her some brushes and let her go to washing her cars, which usually turns into washing her cozy coupe, our outdoor chairs, etc.
