When I was in LA recently, I wore one of my mom’s many visors when I was out walking their dog or at the beach. Asian women love huge, oversized, uv-protecting visors because they take their sun protection seriously. I’d deemed them too uncool to wear, but they did such a great job of keeping the sun off my entire face (even though I wasn’t wearing one of those space-age uv visors… though my mom certainly has one of those too). Since having kids I spend so much time in the sun, and I really need more sun protection. I get hot easily though, and a hat makes me even hotter so I can’t wear them in the summer months. Enter the visor. It provides sun protection while keeping the top of my head cool. High-end designers make them, celebrities wear them, and there are actually some pretty cute visors out there.

I’m tempted to get a straw one and a basic black one. Amazon, Nordstrom and ebay are great places to look.

Am I just losing my fashion sense in my old age, or is this something you would try?
