We’re down to the very last week of school here (WOOHOO!!!), and it’s that time again…time for our annual Summer Fun List! To be a bit of a Debbie Downer while talking about having fun, we really thought that our Lil’ Cowgirl would be home this summer. Because of that, we didn’t plan our annual beach vacation and we won’t be doing any big trips this summer since we’ll be (hopefully) heading to Korea in early Fall. However, Lil’ CB and I made sure to pack our Summer Fun List with lots of fun activities and outings and a few mini getaways, and we plan to make the best out of our last summer as a family of 3. Here’s what this year’s list looks like:
As usual, this year’s list includes a mix of activities, projects, outings, and already scheduled events, including camps that Lil’ CB will be attending (because who doesn’t love to add things to list that you know you will check off?). Many of the items are things we have had on our Summer Fun Lists for the past 4 years and they are favorites we look forward to each summer. And of course, many of the items on our list are free, because we totally love free things! Lil’ CB was so excited to get back to this tradition this year and eagerly supplied many of the ideas. We also added a few new, big boy-ish things to the list, and what was really fun was that Lil’ CB could read the whole list by himself this year!
We’ll be visiting lots of favorite parks and places and participating in activities we have wanted to revisit since last summer. We will definitely be relishing our fun summer, especially since Lil’ CB has worked so hard during his Kindergarten year…summer, here we come!
What fun things will you and your LO be up to this summer?

How pretty! I made a summer to do list with a lot of these same places but its just a boring computer note! I made it in early May and now I’m wondering how we’re going to manage to do any of it in this heat?! Seriously, how do you do anything with the summer weather here? We grew up by the beach and just aren’t sure how people handle this.

We checked off so many things on our summer fun list when we made it for the first time last year – it is a really great, visual way to keep us motivated to do different things each weekend. Love seeing what you come up with year after year! We haven’t made ours for this year yet, but I better get started!

@Mrs. Pom Pom: it’s disgusting. At our wedding, my husband’s best man (from Wisconsin) described our summer weather as “like being in someone’s mouth” — so gross, but so true!!!! And @Mrs. Tiger: we’ve got to get that DC meetup planned!

@Mrs. Bee: I’d like to go glamping with you guys!!! I wish DC was on your list!

@Mrs. High Heels: Yes, it definitely keeps that “I’m bored”s and summer blahs at bay!

@Mrs Green Grass: Thanks! We did our first one when Lil’ CB was 2 — I bet you could start one with D!

Love this! We live in your area, so it’s fun to see so many familiar places
I have an almost three year old who would love to create a list like this. I think I know what we’ll be working on this week!
