Father’s Day means different things to different people.
* One of my friends insists on spending the whole day together with his entire family. His perfect Father’s Day would be a trip to the beach with his wife and two kids.
* Meanwhile, another friend has pretty much the opposite perfect Father Day. He wants to spend the entire day without his family: playing golf, taking a nap, watching a game on television.
And as for me, I’ve never really been into holidays. But when my first Father’s Day came around, I found that it was a rare holiday that I actually felt connected to! My perfect Father’s Day would be to get a card or craft from the kids, and to have a nice brunch with the family.
Everyone is different, so I thought it might be helpful to pull together a quick questionnaire that you can send to your SO to get a better understanding of what their perfect Father’s Day looks like!

This is so helpful! I’m the worst and didn’t plan anything yet for my hubby. I sent this to him to kick my butt in gear in planning out Sunday! Thanks Mr. Bee! I’ll share my results when he replies.

For my DH and my FIL they just like to ‘hang out’ with family so it is pretty easy for me. I get cards and a gift for them but it isn’t really anything big just something that lets them know I appreciate what they do. It is actually a joint gift for my DH and FIL, I get them and my son tickets to the local baseball team (single A) and give them cash to get hot dogs and ice cream etc. I was surprised last year was my son’s first baseball game and I was surprised he lasted almost 7 innings and with a single A team the tickets are not expensive so it was easy for them to leave when they wanted without feeling like they “wasted” money on the tickets without staying the whole time.
Both DH and FIL love to grill so he makes his own Father’s day dinner but I will get the meat and marinade it and get all the sides and dessert done. DH has veto power but so far he has not exercised it so I must be doing something right.
