A while ago an ad for Cuddle + Kind showed up on my Facebook feed. If anyone knows me, they know I love adorable stuffed toys so I was instantly hooked. I clicked on the link and learned that Cuddle + Kind had a mission to feed hungry children all over North America, and every purchase of a doll would feed 10 children. The company was just starting out at the time and were running a IndieGoGo campaign (it has now been completed).

I loved their commitment to quality in their products, and their goal to help feed children in need through World Food Program USA and Children’s Hunger Fund. On Oct 16th in honor of World Food Day the company held a walk with a goal of 10,000 meals in one day. It was a great success and we participated in our little neck of the woods.

In the spirit of the season, here are a few other brands that give back as part of their missions.

Out of Print Tees – Being bookworms in this house, I found Out of Print Tees to be a great way to show love and support for all our favorite books and authors. Out of Print makes tees with covers of all our favorite books, both kids and adults, and proceeds go to donating books to communities in need. A great way to spread the love of reading and books to generations to come.

WWF – Being huge animal lovers in this house we always support the WWF. This year as part of the kids’ Christmas gifts, we made our own bucket and let the kids each pick an animal (Drake picked for Fiona).O ur donations went to preserving wildlife, hopefully for many more years to come.

Zen Pig – Zen Pig teaches life’s big lessons of compassion, gratitude, and thoughtfulness while also helping those in need of fresh clean water. The books are simple and minimalist, but the proceeds of giving clean water for 10 people for a year go way beyond a simple kindness.

Toms – I am looking into buying Toms because of their One for One campaign, which donates a pair of shoes for each one purchased. But beyond that they are working to help with so much more including safe birthing, clean water, and preventing bullying.

Everything Happy – Happy Blankies is a company started by a 7 year old and are whimsically adorable. For every product bought there is a unique code which allows the owner to sign back onto the Everything Happy site and decide where they would like to gift another one of the product they just purchased. Partnered with hospitals and the Ronald McDonald house, Happy blankies are bringing joy to so many who need a little love in their life.

Yoobi – I used to see Yoobi products all the time in Target but never knew about the company’s name literally was a play on the words “you be” — meaning one for you , one for me. For every product bought, one product is donated to a local school. We are always going through art supplies and now that we know our purchases will benefit schools, I am switching over to this brand exclusively.
