The items in my diaper bag keep evolving as the needs of my kids change.  The things I needed for Baby Pizza when she had reflux has recently been replaced with items needed for when I want to feed her solids. It seems like such a long list. I’m amazed that it all fits in my bag!

1. Baby bag organizer – I haven’t come across a diaper bag that I absolutely love that I would want to buy and also not feel so guilty about having (since they can be so pricey). Instead I use a baby bag organizer and switch between these two very affordable bags depending on if I want to look more casual or more dressed up. I’ve tried other baby bag organizers and I have to say this company’s organizer is made really well!

2. Kushies Deluxe Flannel Change Pad – I’ve been using this changing pad since Lil’ Pizza was born and I love it. I like the size of these pads because it covers a large area, which is especially helpful for public changing tables and squirmy babies who refuse to stay still. It’s also very thin so it doesn’t take much room in your bag.

3. Diapers – I never leave home without diapers, even if it’s a really quick trip out. Because probably that ONE day when you decide not to, your baby will surprise you with a crazy diaper explosion. Isn’t that what always happens?!

4. Munchkin Powered Formula Dispenser – I measure out the powdered formula in this dispenser so that I have quick and easy access for when it is time to feed Baby Pizza.

5. Dr. Brown Bottles – I always carry one more bottle than I will need when I am out just to be prepared. I have the bottles pre-filled with the amount of water that I need so that I am using filtered, room temperature water. I usually have two bottles with me.

6. Matimati bibs – I’ve become a big fan of the Matimati bibs. Now I use my “not so cute” bibs at home and often use these when we are out. They are very absorbent and do a much better job of keeping babies dry compared to my other bibs. I usually take two bibs with me.

7. Hand cleaner – I’ve always hated using antibacterial hand gels but I’ve realized that when you have children, you need to have different options available at hand. I like the Norwex hand cleaner because it is made of natural products and it doesn’t dry out hands as much as gels that contain alcohol. I buy Norwex items directly through a consultant, but saw that the hand gel could be found on Amazon (I know it’s quite a hefty price but I’m still a fan).

8. ErgoBABY original carrier – Now that Baby Pizza is bigger, I swapped my carrier that worked with newborns to my older carrier. I’ve realized that this carrier is so nice to have even though there are less carrying options because it folds up much better and can actually fit in my diaper bag. I’ve noticed the carriers out now that can hold newborns are a bit more stiff and are a bit bulkier (I think it’s to help give better back support to the newborns). This carrier is a must for me to help Baby Pizza fall asleep when we are out.

9. Kirkland Baby Wipes – We go to Costco to buy the wipes, but saw that this could also be purchased through Amazon. Some brands of wipes can be too wet for my liking, but I find these to have just the right amount of wetness to clean my baby’s bottom.

10. AVENT Straw Cup – It’s helpful to have a water bottle for Lil’ Pizza. I am not totally in love with this water bottle, but I do like that it is small, spill-proof, has a straw, and a twist lid so the straw can stay clean when not in use.

11. Snack Cup – The snack catcher gives me freedom to use whatever snack I want and allows me to put healthier snack options that are easier for Lil’ Pizza to hold on to and not make too much of a mess in the car.

12. Aden and Anais Swaddle Blanket s– I always have two of these blankets in my bag for both the girls. Lil’ Pizza is so attached to her blanket (her attachment to one specific patterned blanket only happened sometime after Baby Pizza was born) and takes it everywhere. Whatever mood she may be in, “Edwin” has to be there.” Meltdowns occur if I forget her blanket when we are out. Baby Pizza has also gotten attached to these blankets and it helps her to fall asleep more quickly when she has it.

13. Clothes for Baby Pizza – Now that Baby Pizza is eating solids, it’s always safe to bring some extra clothes just in case there’s a messy diaper. It’s always helpful to be prepared!

14. Bumkin bib – I take this additional bib for Baby Pizza because it’s a bit easier to wipe off the mess of the food with these bibs.

15. Infant spoon – Another item I need if I know I am going to feed Baby Pizza solids while I am out.

16. Banana – If I am going to feed solids to Baby Pizza while I’m out, I usually bring a banana because it is something that is almost always in our house. Baby Pizza can be particular with her food choices, so once I know some more of her food preferences, I will probably start taking some baby food pouches instead.

Carabiner with my keys– I love carrying my car keys on a carabiner so I can hook it easily to my diaper bag.

In addition to all these items, I also carry my phone, wallet, feminine products, hand lotion, and chapstick!

Phew!  I think that’s everything that I am currently carrying in my bag!  I imagine it changing a bit again as Baby Pizza’s eating and drinking habits continue to evolve.
