I went with a group of local mommies to one very special place… Sephora! We all had very different concerns and simply wanted to look a bit more refreshed. But almost all of us had the exact same concern in common: the under eye area. We wanted to do whatever was possible to brighten and lift up this problem area. It was very educating to see what’s new out there in the market!

While I have my own routine, I am always on the search for new products and tips on how to take care of the under eye area. Here are the latest products I have discovered and am currently using. You can check out previous underage concealers I’ve reviewed here.

1) Rodan + Fields Restorative Eye Cream – $59

I’m sure you have a Facebook friend (or two) who are desperately trying to sell you on this line… I know it’s set up like a pyramid scheme but I also know that this line works wonders for some people. Unfortunately, this cream did not work for me, but I know a couple people who swear by this line. I do think it’s worth checking out if this line suits your needs. Supposedly, this eye cream has helped many people and the before/after pictures are quite compelling!

2) Cle de Peau Concealer – $70

Mrs. Bee had blogged about this concealer being the “holy grail” of concealers but I just couldn’t shell out the $70 to purchase it. Well, after a few dumpy $20 concealers I finally was given the magical concealer and I do admit, it’s worth the price! There are very few shades but it does provide coverage for a huge range of skin tones. (The color I have is ivory.)

3) Makeup Forever Skin Primer – $37

There’s a primer for any type of concern: dryness, redness, oily skin, etc. I have noticed that putting on a primer specifically in the under eye area helps smooth out the concealers you’re packing in there. For instance, my issue was that when I put on concealer in my under eye area, it would kind of chunk up. I use the Step 1: base hydrating primer so that it will be more smooth and hydrated since my skin tends to dry out throughout the day. If you buy a really nice concealer but the base is not set correctly, you are wasting your wonderful concealer! It’s worth asking a sales rep what they think your skin needs in this area.

4) Smashbox Color Correcting Stick – $23

Another good correcting tool that I would add especially around the very edges of the bottom of your eyes. I would suggest using a brush or sponge to lightly tap and blend. This pencil gives a little more of a pop so that it extenuates your eyes more. And not too shabby of a price!

5) Tata Harper Restorative Eye Cream – $95

This is a big purchase for $95, but one tiny pump goes a long way! I like how I will be able to use 100% of the product by unscrewing the top and digging into the pouch underneath. The cream is very soft, velvety and I think it really has helped my under eye area stay moisturized and take away wrinkles.

6) Mothermade Anti-Wrinkle & Dark Circle Removing Eye Mask – $17.95

Another product that is really popular among Korean skincare products are these eye covering masks. It comes in a two pack: one dedicated more towards wrinkles and the other more towards dark circles. One thing I did not like about this product is that you have to keep your eyes closed since it’s supposed to cover your eyes. But one time I just placed it beneath my eyes and kept it on while I walked around and it was fine! I think this treatment is way more mild than the under eye patches, but I’m sure it gives a little boost and moisturizes this sensitive area.

7) Makeup Forever Camouflage Palette – $40

I love this palette because it can be a good introduction in testing the different colors on your skin. A good makeup tip for general coverage is looking at a color wheel and seeing what the opposite color is: orange/yellow cancels out blue/purple and green cancels out red. So if you have major blueish bags under your eyes, then first use an orange color on top before applying the actual concealer. It will help so much rather than piling on top the lighter color and creating a grey hue.

8) Deck Out Women Crystal Eyelid Patch – $15

I’ve seen so many celebrities putting on these undereye patches so I assumde that it was one of the key things you should do before an outing or event. I purchased a few different ones and I think they are pretty similar. This is one of the brands I’ve used and I do see a difference immediately when I pull off the patches after about 15-20 minutes.

9) Hitece Anti Aging Crystal 24K Gold Powder Gel Collagen Eye Mask

I was surprised at how cheap this product was – only $4.60 for a pack of 10! But it had such amazing reviews I decided to give it a try. It felt just as efficient as the Dec Out Women brand so I may repurchase this item because it’s so cheap!
