Hello there! I’m excited to be joining the Hellobee community. *dusts off keyboard*

It feels great to be blogging about my life again after taking a long hiatus following Little Cotton Candy’s birth in November 2012. Now that life has somewhat settled down into a routine, I’m excited to carve out some time to devote to writing about parenthood.

Mr. Cotton Candy and I are first-time parents to Little Cotton Candy, who is three and a half. His dad and I adore him, and thought for a long time that he would be our one and only, but recently we have decided that we’d like to try for a second (and final) Cotton Candy baby. We’ll be starting our TTC journey in the fall.

We live in Austin, Texas, and love being in a growing, vibrant urban area that’s also laid-back and family friendly. (Yes, we have scoped out a ridiculous amount of “children welcome” eating and playing destinations in and near our city and can’t wait to share them with you!) We also love that Little Cotton Candy’s grandma and two uncles are close by.

I’m a freelance editor and online community manager, and I am fortunate enough to be able to work from home. Being a WAHM isn’t easy (the majority of the emotional labor and household chores fall to me), but I wouldn’t trade this set-up for anything. I love the freedom and flexibility working from home affords me, and I also love that I don’t have to be in mom mode 24/7. Little Cotton Candy just finished his first year at an in-home language immersion preschool, where he learns French and Spanish, and we couldn’t be happier with the decision to enroll him.

I hope you’ll join me as I share all the things I’ve learned about parenthood in the past three and a half years, the blunders I’ve made, and our journey to potentially grow our family.
