It took forever to grow out Olive’s bangs (and they’re still growing out). I loved them, but it’s so hot here I think it’s better not to have bangs. But now we have to address her other hair issue – her monster tangles. The sun, sand, and humidity causes her fine hair to turn into rat’s nests, so I asked her last night if she wanted to cut her hair short. In the past she’s always said no, but last night she said yes!
I’ve always been in love with bobs with bangs for little girls and hit the net to find inspiration. After rounding up these images, I asked Olive again if she wanted to cut her hair short, and she replied, “No I want it long like Rapunzel!” Sigh. My loss is your gain in the form of these super cute short hairstyles!

And here are some super adorable short haircuts of yore that Brandy has featured in the past:
And of course Olive used to rock a bob herself!
Have you cut your daughter’s hair short?

My 3 year old has thick, fast growing hair that she refuses to allow anything in- no headbands, pins, etc, so we have to cut it short so it doesn’t overwhelm her. She’s been rocking a pixie similar to the Janie and Jack picture for years.

@Mrs. Carrot: my little girl was that way until not too long ago. She is nearly 4 and lets me do things to her hair once in a while now.

DD is developing a little toddler mullet (and she is fairly bald up top) so I really want to cut what hair she does have into a bob.

I love these!! My DDs both have hair that is curly and fine at the same time, so I’m a little scared to give them cuts that need to hold shape (I’m afraid their hair would fall flat) – hopefully in a year or two when they no longer have “baby hair” we can try something like one of these, because short hair is soooo adorable.

My daughter begs for haircuts! She loves a short bob, and wears a headband everyday. Easy and cute.

Yes. We just cut our 3 year old’s hair to shoulder length as a longer bob. I love it and I’m glad she agreed (baby was pulling her hair, at least now there’s less to pull and I can still put it up in a pony tail)

My instructions for the hair dresser are always ‘cut it as short as possible with her still looking like a girl’
It’s a chin length bob, no bangs. And we always get SO MANY compliments on it. I do it for the same reason you were planning on – she’s a PITA when I comb it – so we keep it short.
My son has longish ‘surfer hair’ and I have a bob too – thought mine is growing out. For a while there I was teased that we all had the same haircut!! Thankfully now I’m growing mine out and I keep the back of my son’s much shorter – so they are a little different!! haha.

My 4 year old daughter has been rocking a super short bob for about 6 months (initially cut because of tangles). I recently got a pixie cut, and now she wants hair like mine.

My daughter is turning 2 and has the hair growth of a balding man. She likley won’t need her first haircut until shes 12 years old. It grows that slow!
