I just passed the one month until the due date milestone. I think more than anything I am in complete shock that we are here. The final stretch. It’s a weird place, because I’m a week away from being full-term and being in the any day now territory, or I could still have six weeks to go. On one hand I’d like to be prepared, and on the other I don’t want to hang on to my due date too much.

There are plenty of lengthy detailed to do lists of things to accomplish during the final month of pregnancy floating around the internet. So, what’s on my priority list of things I hope I actually get that done in time?

Buy all the postpartum things – After a night of many Braxton Hicks, I got nervous about my lack of preparation and went out to buy all of the postpartum essentials the next day. On my list included pads, stool softener, witch hazel and Earth Mama Angel Baby soothing perineal mist.

Pack the hospital bag – I’ve been working on a list for awhile now, but haven’t got around to packing it, aside from a few going home outfits in various sizes. Priorities.

Freeze some meals – I would like to stock up the freezer a bit with meals. We have a bit of a unique eating situation in our house – I’m gluten-free and my husband is vegetarian. Kind of makes us a harder couple to make meals for, so we have some cooking to do!

Keep food in the house –  I don’t want to be caught off guard going into labour before my due date and have no food in the house! So I’m trying to keep up with having snacks, fruit and veggies in the house.

Drink all the tea – Now that I’m one month out, I’d like to add drinking Raspberry Leaf tea to my daily routine.

Getting the baby in a good position – There are plenty of strategies to help get your baby into a good position for birth – I’m trying to be diligent with doing cat and cow position daily, and sitting on my ball chair during the work day.

Finish the nursery – We’re nearly there, but there are few more things left to do before the nursery is officially complete. I know this isn’t a must do, but let’s be real, whatever is left to be done will not get completed any time soon if we leave it until after the baby is here!

Tap into nesting  – I have yet to feel the nesting urge, and I’m eagerly awaiting that time when I want to give the house a nice deep clean.

Chill out and take advantage of nap time – I’ve definitely started to slow down, and I’m thinking a nap time routine needs a place in my life.

What was/is on your final month list?
