My friend, Mrs. Tornado, introduced me to Hellobee and I fell in love with the site almost immediately! I love a good mom-community, and this one came in such a pretty website with so many great parts to it. I’ve enjoyed the posts and forums and am looking forward to writing for this awesome audience!

I met my husband about 11.5 years ago and we bonded over our favorite movie (Princess Bride) and have been best friends ever since. He has 2 awesome kids, Nick and Izzy, now 19 and 15. Jumping into being a stepmom was scary, overwhelming, lots of hard work and so much fun all at the same time. I still remember taking them on the back of our Vespa scooters all around downtown Dallas, Nick age 9 with his dad and Izzy age 6 on the back with me! Now that I’m a mom, I can hardly believe their mom let us do that with them! But we loved living downtown and had so much fun in our 1 room loft back then.

We tried to make that 1100 sq ft downtown loft work after our first, Miles, was born. But when I got pregnant with our second, we decided that a 1 room loft was just too small for 2 adults, 2 part-time kids, 2 full-time kids and a dog!  So we got our first taste of house flipping in Frisco, TX. We bought a short sale and moved in 8 days before I gave birth to our second, Natalie. That was a crazy time! But we fixed that house up and quickly decided that suburban life just wasn’t for us.

So, last year we moved back to the city. We found a 115-year-old house that used to be a church in uptown Dallas. It needs lots of love and renovating and we have a huge project on our hands that we are about to start working on this month. We’re talking all new roof, siding, windows, floors and layout throughout! Please send prayers, good thoughts and/or wine! TONS of wine!

On top of all that, I’ve got a husband who travels about 2 weeks out of each month for work and I decided life wasn’t crazy enough – so, I stay home and homeschool my 6 and 3-year-old! That was a huge decision that I’m sure I’ll talk more about here.

Typically our days are filled with learning, jumping on the trampoline, dance classes, trips to the zoo and Perot Museum and more. We try to stay busy and usually find ourselves with too much going on! But I love this season of our life and go back and forth between desperately needing a break from my kids (like, I’m seriously always with them both) and trying to soak in the adorable moments.

So happy to be a part of this fun team and I look forward to getting to know the readers and sharing our adventures with y’all!
