I knew from the very start that I’d want to use a bottle early and often with our third baby. After the first couple of weeks of exclusive nursing to establish supply, we started offering a bottle. At the start, I used the Medela bottles that came with my Medela pump, but when figuring out what to buy moving forward, I think almost any mom can look at the selection of offerings and think, “what’s the difference?” and “how do I determine which one to pick?” You can’t buy most bottles individually – they’re sold in sets, and I learned the hard way with my first child that buying what seems popular (at the time it was Dr. Browns) doesn’t mean that your baby will actually like them. (Disclaimer: he didn’t. Asher did, but then we tossed them because they were all worn out.)

So when Mrs. Bee asked if I wanted to review the Baby’s Choice Bottle Bundle, I was thrilled. Like me and so many other moms out there, the founders Abby and Hallie had new babies themselves and faced the frustrating bottle trial process. They put together this amazing starter pack for a new baby with four great bottle options – the Nuk bottle with Perfect Fit, The Dr. Brown’s Natural Flow Standard bottle, the Avent Natural and the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature bottle.

The battle is on - which bottle will reign supreme?
The battle is on – which bottle will reign supreme?

What is great is that these are actually four of the most frequently recommended bottles I personally have heard about in my local Facebook moms groups for moms who are struggling with getting a breastfed baby to take a bottle, as they mimic the look and feel of a mother’s nipple.

I received the package, and it was beautifully boxed up – so much so that it had me thinking someone had sent Leila a gift in the mail before I realized this was the product I was sent to review. Each bottle was individually packaged, and one by one, we took them out and got to work testing them with the baby. At the beginning, I was never the one giving Leila her bottles, so I asked my husband and babysitter to weigh in on Leila’s opinion of each. This is where I am super lucky – this girl is as low maintenance as they come. She did a good job taking the milk from each bottle, though she seemed to do best with the Nuk and the Avent bottles. And because we only use a bottle or two a day, we never ended up buying any others, because between my two Medela pump bottles, the Nuk, Avent, and Tommee Tippee (I gave the Dr. Browns to a friend – I just despise cleaning all those pieces!), we have more than enough small bottles.

Depending on when I decide to wean or if we need to buy the larger size, having experience with a lot of different bottles is so helpful, as I won’t end up investing in sets of bottles that aren’t a good fit for my little one.

The Baby’s Choice Bottle Bundle would make an awesome baby shower gift.

Did you try a bunch of different bottles before settling on a brand that baby would take? What bottle ended up working best for your little one?
