Cut Out the Jelly Beans

Print the first page of the PDF (that’s the one with the color jelly beans that have white dots). Printing on card stock will give your jelly beans a bit more stability, but depending on your child’s scissor skills, paper may be easier.

Cut around the jelly bean shapes. Remember, if your child is doing this part, it’s okay for the candies to be a little wonky. The process is more important than a perfect product.

Punch Holes in the Jelly Beans

Use a hole punch on the white dots. The dots are smaller than a standard punch, so there’s some wiggle room if the hole isn’t centered on the markings.

Make a Bunch of Garland Pieces

Make as many jelly beans as you want! A set of six beans will make a garland that’s about 3 feet long.

Thread the Beans Onto the String

Cut a piece of string and start threading the jelly beans. If your child struggles to get the string through the holes, wrap a piece of tape around the end. This is especially helpful with yarn.

Hang Your Garland for Easter

Help your little one display their garland in their room or someplace special. It’s an Easter treat with zero sugar!

Design Your Own Jelly Beans

The other pages in the PDF give you some options for other jelly bean paper crafts:

  • Color and design your own jelly beans, then give them silly flavor names.
  • Attach the card stock jelly beans to an empty embroidery hoop for an instant wreath.
  • Tape jelly bean cut-outs to wood skewers and use them to top your Easter cake.
  • Write a little note on the back of a jelly bean as a mini card.
  • Hide the jelly beans around the house for a paper candy hunt.
  • Print the black and white pages on colored paper for bright and bold jelly beans.
  • Tie a string through the two holes to make a jelly bean necklace.
  • Print two sets of the pastel jelly beans to make a memory game.
  • Tape the jelly beans up in a window for more simple decor.

There are lots of ways to use these, and sometimes just having some fun shapes around for coloring and cutting practice is a good way to keep little hands busy.

Happy Crafting!
