Who here finds shopping for your mom a challenge? *Raises hand*! My mom is not the easiest to shop for because when she wants something she often just gets it herself. Great for her, but hard for me! However, she loves receiving flowers and it’s not something she would buy herself. Plus, there’s just something about opening the door and finding a large box full of beautiful blooms at your doorstep that triggers those emotional happy points, so I will often gift her a large flower bouquet for Mother’s Day. I’m a big flower girl myself (peonies, sunflowers, roses, and orchids are always calling my name), so really enjoy giving and receiving them too. These are my go-to places when shopping for flowers:

1| Farmgirl Flowers – just a few years ago, Farmgirl Flowers was only shipping in California, but now they ship across the entire U.S., so everyone can now enjoy these beauties! They are my go-to, especially when I can’t give flowers in person. All their bouquets are hand-tied in burlap, and the quality of the flowers are top notch. You can tell they love what they do, and every bouquet is a delicately arranged piece of art. I’ve ordered from them many times over the years, and have even been on the receiving end a handful of times. I’m always impressed, and never disappointed. The packaging, and attention to detail is second to none. This is my #1 place for buying flowers!

2| Bouqs.com – I bought flowers from Bouqs prior to discovering Farmgirl Flowers, and was very happy with their quality. They’re definitely heads above 1800-Flowers or ProFlowers. They deliver excellent quality farm-fresh blooms that are cut from eco-friendly, sustainable local farms. The flowers don’t get cut until you order. Talk about fresh!

3| Costco.com – Costco has really good quality bouquets year-round, and I will usually pick some up in-store if I get to see my mom in person. I don’t think you can go wrong with Costco, and if you’re disappointed, their return policy is so good that I have no doubt they’d give you your money back if you were disappointed in your flowers for any reason. You can also order directly from Costco.com and have your flowers shipped.

4| Trader Joes – They have pre-packaged bouquets that are great in a pinch, or specific types of flowers that you can pick and choose to create a bouquet all your own. I really love browsing the flower section of Trader Joe’s whenever I’m there for my grocery shopping, and find that there’s a pretty decent selection at affordable prices.

I second Costco. My DH ordered Valentine’s flowers from them for delivery and they were amazing. And in true Costco style, the prices weren’t inflated for the holiday. Sure they come in the mail and I had to trim them and put them in the vase myself, but they were significantly better than any of the other mail delivery flowers that are NOT mentioned in your post.

I love using The Bouqs for delivery service. I’ll have to checkout Farmgirl!
I’m also a fan of Kroger flowers. Their clearance bucket can be a gold mine sometimes!

Have to let you know that I ordered a bouquet of flowers from Farmgirl Flowers based on this post. I sent them to our surrogate on the birthday of our daughter that she carried and delivered. Wow, so thrilled with this company!! Thanks for this recommendation! I had never heard of them before…

@Mrs. High Heels: I very rarely send flowers but remembered this post and just came back to it to remember your recommendations. I went with The Bouqs because farmgirl was just a little too expensive on the east coast, but I’m sending to some who I know will appreciate it not being one of the big brands!
