Father’s Day is around the corner. Are you ready to celebrate dads on June 18th?! If you’re still scratching your head in wonder of what to get the man of your life for Father’s Day, then I have some ideas for you. These are actual items my husband has told me that he’s wanted at some point. I also had him review this to give it a father’s thumbs up. He nodded his head at all of it. There are some big gifts and some small ones depending on your budget. I hope this list sparks some ideas for you!
AirPods: I ended up splurging on these AirPods for my guy since he’s been talking about them for.ev.er (Sandlot style). He uses headphones all the time, so they’ll get good use for sure. They will also work as an earpiece for making calls in the car – like to let me know he’s headed home from work. Also, I figured he’d probably end up buying them one way or another, so I went ahead and got them for him.
Mug: You can’t beat a good mug and a nice cup of coffee in the morning to get you going. I love how mugs bring memories, too. This particular mug I’ve featured is from a coffee hangout from our home town, Encinitas. I enjoy their designs on their merchandise and this mug is no exception. You can find some great mugs at Starbucks or create one with a photo on Shutterfly.
Coffee: You could make a fun basket type gift with a mug and coffee beans. You gotta have good beans to make good coffee. AmIright? We have a few local coffee shops that roast some great beans. You can find a local coffee shop or order these Bluebeard beans (they are roasted here in Tacoma, Seattle’s cool sister city. And here in Seattle/Tacoma, we know our coffee). Or, check out this list of coffee bean subscriptions. I’m tempted by the Blue Bottle subscription.
Travel Toiletry Bag: Does your husband throw his toiletries into a ziplock bag when you travel? Picture me raising my hand. That or he asks to put his things in my bag. Sheesh! I think a cool, manly toiletry bag like this one would be a great gift. And yes, my husband did like this idea.
Board Shorts: In the evenings, my husband and I sit on the couch and watch something on TV. He often has the laptop on and is browsing. When I peek over, I see him looking at Almond Surfboards site. He doesn’t surf, but the apparel is quite nice. I’m sure he’d like some new board shorts for our Hawaii trip in September (or at least, we’re planning this trip…fingers crossed).
Manly Candle: These P.F. Candle Co. candles have a great scent and be sure to appeal to any guy (or lady). These last a long time and don’t get all gunky like some candles. Plus, a candle as a gift means the whole family can benefit with the lovely smell that will fill the house.
Shaving:
Even though my hubby has a beard, he still needs to maintain good beard hygiene. It’ll be extra nice in the morning routine to use a quality razor and luxurious cream and aftershave. You can get some great ones these day at Target even like the Cremo and Harry’s brand. Or, head over to The Art of Shaving or a fine gift set (or gift him an actual shave!).Cologne: This is a classic father’s day gift. I think as a child I often got my dad a tie or cologne. You can’t go wrong with the classics. Plus, doesn’t everyone want to smell good? Perhaps indulge him and get the cologne he might want but passes up for a more economical cologne. This John Varvatos is a great scent!
Big Green Egg: I told my hubby we had to get a gas grill first because it’s much easier to fire up for a quick meal, and easier to clean. Now we have the gas grill, and I think he has dreams of getting the Big Green Egg (a ceramic grill/oven/smoker) now.
T-Shirt: T-shirts are the top of choice on the weekends for my hubby. He leans towards wearing brewery, restaurant, or yuppie-type shirts (you know, like a whale wearing a top hat). You can find some great shirts on Scoutmob, or here’s a Seattle brewery shirt he owns and loves.
BBQ or Taco Cookbook: Mr. Macaron doesn’t cook much, but he enjoys being on the grill on the weekends in good weather. In our latest move we lost the Weber’s Big Book of Grilling cookbook, which was a great resource. But the Franklin Barbecue Manifesto caught my eye, too. Or here’s a good list with lots of other ideas. He also has a huge love for Mexican food, and he especially loves Rick Bayless, so I think he’d be pretty happy to open his present and find this book, too.
Growler: Is your hubby a beer connoisseur? We have tons of local breweries and grabbing a growler for the week is something my hubby enjoys. This Miir growler is sleek, stylish and helps keep the beer fresh.
Magazine Subscription: Magazines are great because you don’t have to commit to a whole book, and this can be convenient when you don’t have a ton of time on your hands (you know what I mean…life with kids). If there is a topic your husband is particularly fond of, getting a magazine on that topic is a nice touch. My hubby enjoys the local magazine, South Sound Magazine, to see what’s happening around town as well as this regional beer magazine, Sip Northwest. Other ideas include beer, wine, cigars, sports, cooking… there are tons of options out there!
Hopefully this sparks ideas! Happy Father’s Days.

ETA: and I see that I posted on your initial post about living there! Ha. I’m gonna blame infant induced memory loss (my second is 19 months!) Still funny to see something I know and love so well!

Such great ideas! My husband LOVES coffee subscriptions – Misto Box is one of our favorites, as it allows us to try different roasters from all over the country. I can also speak highly of Harry’s razors – I left my razor at home when we just took our beach vacation, so had to borrow DH’s Harry’s razor – I loved it
And the Big Green Egg is amazing – DH cooks more than I do since we got ours!
