I don’t know if you’ve noticed or not, but Christmas is less than a week away. I always do my shopping early on, but it inevitably happens that a few days before Christmas I realize that I am missing a gift for someone. Rather than panic, I have a go-to list of easy and nice last minute Christmas gifts.
Gift Cards: I know there is a lot of debate about gift cards, but I personally love when I get one. I especially love when I get a gift card for coffee, a meal out, or a clothing store that I like. There are also a ton of really cute ideas on how to wrap or present a gift card to make the gift a little more personal.
Potted Plants: In my office, there is a running joke that I take on everyone else’s nearly dead plants and bring them back to life. My office is full of plants, and I love them. For those people in your life that have a green thumb, a nice potted plant is a great last minute gift.
Movie Tickets: I haven’t been to a movie in about a year and that is primarily because it costs so much! But giving movie tickets as a gift is a great idea. To make it even better, throw in a $10 bill so that the gift recipient can get snacks at the theater too!
Chocolate: I mean, this doesn’t really need an explanation, chocolate is an awesome gift. I love going to one of the specialty grocery stores in town and getting a variety of nice chocolate bars. I wrap them up in tissue paper and tie a bow on it, and done!
Charitable Donation: This is my favorite thing on this list. Recently, I got a card in the mail that someone had donated in my name at the local children’s hospital. I loved this gift and it made me want to do the same for someone else in my life.
Bottle of Wine: Let’s face it, a mid level bottle of wine can be a great gift, especially for those of us that need a night to relax during the busy holiday season. Pair the bottle with a nice wine glass too, and you’ve got a sweet little Christmas gift.
Sporting Event Tickets: If you live in a university town like I do, it’s really easy to grab general admission tickets for a sporting event. These are usually pretty affordable, and going to the games is pretty entertaining. I would add a t-shirt or two of whatever team the tickets are for, and you have a nice little gift.
Beauty Box: This is super easy and can be really affordable too! I go to someplace like Ulta Beauty, or even the personal care section of a grocery store and grab a few face masks, some small lotions, chapsticks, and a few bath bombs or salts, then put everything into a basket and wrap it up! Great for mommy friends that need a night of pampering at home.
Car Wash Card/ Gas Card: My old boss used to get me a car wash punch card and a gas card every year for Christmas and it was such a thoughtful gift. I was so grateful to have an extra tank of gas, especially with how much we travel during the holidays. And the car wash punch card was great because I would never normally go through a car wash.
Manicure/Pedicure gift certificate: I personally love pedicures so much, but I am way too cheap to pay for one. But my mom regularly gifts me pedicures, and I love it every time. Sometimes she even includes a bottle of nice polish in a color I like as well, which is a great addition.

It’s funny because I LOVE getting gift cards (and actually prefer them), but I always have a hard time buying one for other people because I worry that it won’t look very thoughtful.

i actually do not like gift cards because i never remember to use them and they go to waste!
but i would love tickets to a sporting event — i would definitely go to that! some friends have also many charitable donations in my name in the past and that was very lovely.
