Last year we went with simple classic Halloween costumes. We decided to go with monsters. We figured that would give plenty of opportunities for lots of our friends and family to join in.

My oldest decided on the Wolfman. His was pretty easy to put together. We bought the flannel shirt and gloves and then made a furry hood.

Grandpa trained joined in as the Wolfman as well. He figured he was hairy enough so we didn’t have to make a hood for him.

My twins went with vampires.   asked them if they both wanted to be the same costumes and they said yes. We made their vest and capes. The kids’ uncle even came over and made them a coffin to hide in on Halloween night.

Lilly designed her good witch costume. She was very clear on the fact that she was a good little witch and did not want to be scary. We used a princess dress for her pattern but made it out of purple and black. She even picked out the sheer fabric with a cat design for her cape.

Witch is a pretty popular choice so she was joined by her Grandma and Great Aunt to make a coven of good witches.

It wouldn’t be a Halloween if Mr. Train and I didn’t jump into the fun so here we are. The Monster of Frankenstein and his Bride. Mr. Train was absolutely not a fan of putting on face paint but he tolerated it for me.

The kids’ uncle went with a creepy scarecrow to round out our family monster mash.

But the fun didn’t stop with our family. Two of the kids’ best buddies and their families joined in. We Had Jack Skellington and his skeleton crew.DSC_8917

My twins were so excited that their friend wanted to be a vampire with them. They couldn’t wait to go to school and show everyone their triple costume.

It wasn’t just the vampire that joined our crew; his parents came as The Invisible Man and Morticia Adams.

For our crazy crew Halloween is a fun family tradition. Now we have more and more people joining in our crazy ideas and we love it.
