The grandmothers in my children’s lives don’t really “need” anything for the holidays. Every year we try hard to come up with unique gifts that show them how much we love spending time with them, even though some of them live far away. If you have a grandma who already “has it all” maybe one of these cute gifts will do the trick this year!
Window Bird Feeder – This is the BEST bird feeder ever. Period. It is so fun to be able to watch the birds snack on seeds from inside your home! Bonus if grandma has a cat, as they love watching birds eat from the other side of the window. This one comes in a few different sizes depending on what kind of birds you are trying to attract, so definitely look around at the different options.
Grandmother’s Journal – This is an item that I dearly wish my own grandmother had filled out. It’s a journal of questions and prompts for grandma to fill with stories from her life and about the history of the family, before passing it on to her grandkids. I just bought one for my mom, and I know my kids (and me!) will cherish this forever. I think she will have a good time filling it out as well!
Recipe Display and Photo Frame – If you have cherished family recipes, this frame is a great way to display and gift one! I think it would look great to add a grandchild’s photo, or a drawing they make of the food. Include a note scheduling a time to get together with grandma to make this family dish, and you have a wonderful holiday gift.
Compartes Chocolate and Burdick Chocolate – Grandmas love chocolate. Most grandkids do too! Both of these luxury chocolate gifts are delicious and special. I’ve sampled both and they really are amazing! I’m sure grandma would be happy to share a bite or two as well.
Child Artwork Display – This frame for kids artwork is awesome for the grandma that has it all. Fill it up with some unique pieces from the grandkids, and she will see how much love was put into the gift. I like that it can hold multiple pieces (up to 50!), excellent for those prolific artists that can create ten pictures in under a minute and demand that grandma sees them all
Custom Photo Blanket – Each holiday season, we try to find a new type of photo gift to give the grandparents. Along with the yearly ornaments and calendars, we’ve done tote bags, mugs, canvas prints, cell phone cases, and more. This year we are doing blankets, and I can’t get over how cute they are! Grandmas tend to love blankets, so what’s better than a blanket full of adorable photos of the grandkids?! Nothing!

And I just spent an obnoxious amount of money at Compartes. Creative chocolate is my weakness!

Great idea with the bird feeder! I’d love that for myself too but saving the idea for mother’s day next year!

I really like the recipe display and photo holder for myself – since my mom passed away and family dinners/recipes meant so much. It looks like it is not available on amazon right now and I can’t find anything like it on etsy but it may be easy to make? Thank you for the idea!
