One of the annoying things about shopping for a dinosaur-loving little girl, who also loves the color pink, glitter, ruffles and more traditionally “girly” things, is that the great majority of dino products are aimed at boys. Of course, any kid can play with a dinosaur, but the way they are marketed is definitely boy-centric: boys in the marketing photos, more “boyish” colors and fonts, just assuming that girls wouldn’t want to play with them! One of my friends even noticed that on dinosaur clothing, boys tend to get the carnivores, while girls get the herbivores, even though Snowy’s favorite dinosaur is the T-rex.
Despite this, I’ve been able to find quite a few dinosaur items that Miss Snowy would absolutely love. This post has some “girlier” dinosaur gifts, because Snowy also loves pink and glitter and things like that, but many of these picks would be great for any dinosaur loving kid. I will also be posting another gift guide that specifically focuses on craft kits for dinosaur lovers — there are so many great kits that they deserve their own post!
Snowy is an accessorizer. She loves bows, necklaces, bracelets, the whole works (even though they usually end up in her cubby by the time I pick her up from school :p). Even though she can’t tell time yet, she loves wearing a watch. Her favorite color is pink and the dino looks a lot like a T-rex, her favorite, so this would be perfect.
Snowy loves bath bombs. She especially loves bath bombs with toys inside. These organic, natural bath bombs from Appolis come with dinosaur toys inside, and the set comes with great fragrances like lavender, sweet orange, and rose.
Snowy has a dinosaur shirt, dinosaur pants, and a dinosaur skirt, all from Carter’s, but does not yet have a dinosaur dress. I like that this dress has a mix of carnivores and herbivores, even though like most girls’ dinosaur clothing, it is herbivore heavy. I’m planning on getting this for Snowy to wear at her 5th birthday party. It says it runs short, so I would size up (not a huge deal for us since Snowy always wears pants/leggings with her dresses/skirts).
4) Plush Dinosaur House with 5 Dinosaurs.
There are a lot of different dinosaur play sets and dinosaur figures out there. Snowy really loves stuffed animals and anything cuddly, so this would be her pick. She does a lot of pretend play with her little figures: school, families, etc., and I can just imagine her having a ton of fun putting these in and out of their “house.”
5) Melissa and Doug Prehistoric Reusable Sticker Pad.
Like many kids her age, Snowy loves stickers. And we as her parents love for her to have a designated place for the said stickers. This Melissa and Doug Prehistoric Reusable Sticker Book would be perfect for that.
6) Build A Bear Velociraptor Blue.
This just popped up in my Facebook feed as having just returned to Build a Bear stores and online after selling out all over this summer. Build a Bear has a lot of dinosaur choices, and I love how realistic this one is. And again, super cuddly! Snowy has built one Build a Bear before: she chose Charmander, a Pokemon who reminded her of a dinosaur. But of course she named Charmander Strawberry and got her a pretty purple cape too.
Snowy loves dressing up almost as much as she loves dinosaurs. She would love to don this.
8) What if Dinosaurs Were Pink by Jarrett Whitlow
More pink and dinosaurs! This is a book we read over and over.
9) Build A Bear Rainbow Hearts Triceratops.
On the totally other end of the dinosaur spectrum at Build a Bear: Snowy’s second favorite dinosaur in a colorful print she would absolutely adore.
Snowy loves hair bows, and we are definitely going to get her a dinosaur one for her 5th birthday outfit!
Another colorful choice. Snowy loves having bags to cart her stuff in: all the random “essentials” (usually way too many toys and books!).
12) Encyclopedia Prehistorica Pop-up Book.
This book has come highly recommended from this community. Snowy is finally getting to the age where she is more careful with her things, so I think she would love it. The pop-ups are so incredibly detailed!
Do you know any dinosaur loving little girls? What are your gift recommendations for them?

So bummed I didn’t see those bath bombs! My boys are crazy into them and that’s what St. Nick brought this year. They were disappointed that there was no toy inside like that year.

Have you seen the dinosaur dresses from Princess Awesome? They’re on the pricier side, but they have discounts from 15-25% off fairly frequently. And the dresses have pockets! https://princess-awesome.com/collections/dinosaurs
