Please welcome our first blogger to the hive, Mrs. Marbles! 

PS – We’re still reviewing applications, but I’ve been feeling a little overwhelmed lately with juggling two kids and Hellobee.  Mrs. Marbles and I go way back, and I was so excited when she applied to be a Bee because she’s an excellent blogger!

Hello hive! I’m Mama Marbles and with my husband, Papa Marbles, we’re parents to 8.5 month old Little Marbles. Papa Marbles and I got married in 2008 and we moved into a one-bedroom condo in the outer-boroughs of New York City. After we found out that we were pregnant last summer (2010), we panicked about space and decided to buy a house farther out in the outer-boroughs, which I fondly call the “semi-burbs” so that we could have more room to raise our little family. We purchased and renovated our home while I was seven months pregnant and moved in one week to the day before Little Marbles was born! It’s been a bit of a transition to go from condo-owner to house-owner and at the same time juggle work and motherhood, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything else. Despite getting less sleep and having to manage my time better, I can’t stress how rewarding life is right now.

In the next few months, I plan to share stories of my road to pregnancy with medical obstacles, transitioning from life in the city to the semi-burbs, raising a multicultural/ethnic child and the general everyday adventures of a working mom. I love the community that’s grown on Hellobee and am excited to contribute as a blogger!
