We bought Charlie a play kitchen when he was around 9 months old, and it’s definitely been the toy that has seen the most play time. The kitchen helped him learn how to cruise, open and close doors, and now that he’s a little bit older, engage in imaginative play. Charlie loves to cook us soup with his pots, pans, and utensils. He’s learned the names of many different types of foods, as well as words like hot, cold, warm, spicy, sour, and delicious to describe his culinary creations. Charlie is content to play with his kitchen by himself, but I can only imagine how much more fun it will be once Olive is old enough to play with him!

Once we move to a bigger place, I’d love to diy an entire kitchen area. I loved playing “house” growing up, and I’m sure Charlie and Olive will too. Here are some images I’ve been collecting for inspiration!
